The fonds consists of a 2-page typescript constitution (ca. 1907) and a minute book containing handwritten Society minutes (1907-1911).

The fonds consists of records dating from 1907 to 2008, which provide a unique source of information particularly about student-related matters such as grades, university admissions, graduation and examinations. In addition to records generated by the Registrar's Office itself, there are also Faculty records (1915-1963) which were probably maintained by the Registrar who served as the secretary to Senate. The Registrar’s Office also maintained the records of the Senate’s committees, reports, and elections (1912-1930). There are also records related to the Sopron Division of the Faculty of Forestry (1957-2007). These records include handwritten transcripts and correspondence. The records have been largely retained in their physical order in which they were acquired - as a result, records from different series are often inter-filed together, making it difficult to distinguish them with any accuracy. The records on microfilm include correspondence, student registration cards, academic records, and information on scholarships and bursaries dating from 1913 to 1968. The Registrar's Office also collected copies of student examinations. In 1993 copies of student examinations from 1915 to 1969 were microfilmed and the originals destroyed.

The collection contains materials related to Ian McDonald's Master's thesis research on the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Local 213 “Class conflict and political factionalism: a history of Local 213 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, 1901-1961," and related to the activities of his father, Les McDonald, a trade union activist who belonged to Local 213 but was eventually suspended for leading the Lenkurt strike of 1966. Les McDonald was also a multi-sport athlete, and is credited with introducing the triathlon into the Olympics; some materials in the collection relate to Les McDonald's involvement in various sport and environmental organizations, as well as some of his personal papers. In addition to what he received from his father, Ian McDonald was also given papers by former IBEW Local 213 business manager Art O’Keeffe and Barry Sharbo, a board member of the Canadian Union of Electrical Workers (UE), as well as Alfie Huston, the former President of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 213 from 1985-1988, which are included within the collection.

The collection is largely comprised of newspaper and photocopied journal articles, correspondence between members of IBEW Local 213, legal documentation, newsletters and other printed ephemera related to IBEW Local 213.

The collection also contains sound recordings of interviews with numerous figures in IBEW Local 213 created by Ian McDonald during his thesis research. McDonald's thesis, submitted for the completion of a Master of Arts in History at Simon Fraser University, can be found in the Summit database: http://summit.sfu.ca/item/6361.

The collection also contains background materials accumulated by McDonald while writing his book “The Red Baron of IBEW 213,” including digital sound recordings of interviews, research articles, notebooks, consent forms, a draft royalty agreement, a draft chapter and a press marketing questionnaire.

In addition, the fonds includes materials relating to the election and appointment of individuals to the Senate. Also included are minutes, correspondence, reports and other records created by affiliated agencies, including the Committee of Military Education of McGill University College (1915), the U.B.C. Faculty Council (1927-1973), and the Executive Council of Convocation (1964-1965). The fonds consists of the bound minutes of meetings of the Faculty held between 1915 and 1921. In addition, an oversize bound visitor registry (1959-1993) was acquired in 2020 and can be found in box 2.

The fonds consists of records generated by the Faculty Association in pursuit of its mandate to promote the welfare of the Faculty and the University of British Columbia. The records were organized according to several filing schemes, which were alphabetical, and constantly changing. Lack of consistency in the arrangement of the records impeded access. The archivist grouped the files into fifteen identifiable series. The original file titles have been retained.

The fonds reflects Mary Bishop’s interests in the social and political issues surrounding family planning, access to birth control, and population planning, primarily in Canada, as well as in south Asia and globally. She accumulated a large number of subject files to support her research in these areas on topics including human sexuality; abortion; fertility; welfare of children and families; and the influence of organized religion and Eugenics movements on birth control access. The fonds also reflects Bishop’s dedication to voluntary service with local, national, and international organizations focused on family and population planning. A small number of personal records are also included.

Bishop’s records are arranged into three series: population and family planning research; volunteer involvement; and personal files. The fonds consists primarily of newspaper clippings and research notes on topics of interest to Bishop; government and NGO reports and publications on population policy and family planning issues; pamphlets and flyers; and drafts of articles and speeches authored by Bishop. The fonds also includes recordings and transcripts of a series of interviews conducted by Bishop in the late 1970s with individuals relevant to the history of the birth control movement in Canada, including physicians, activists, religious leaders, couples, and individual women. Some organizational records for the various groups Bishop was part of (e.g., agendas, meeting minutes, annual reports, committee reports, correspondence, financial records) are also present in the fonds.

The fonds consists of logbooks, trip register, meeting minutes, and photograph albums. The logbooks and trip registers chronicle the general activities of the Varsity Outdoor Club and the activities at their various cabin locations, with comments by many who use the facilities. The files on meeting minutes contain minutes and sometimes copies of the VOCene, the club's newsletter, or advertisement and informational material related to the organization's activities. The photograph albums include black and white and coloured prints from several decades of the club's existence.

The fonds consist of correspondence, minutes, manuscripts, annual reports, and financial records relating to the Institute of Pacific Relations activities, particularly William Holland's varied roles as I.P.R. Research Secretary, AIPR Executive Secretary I.P.R. Secretary-General, and Editor of Pacific Affairs. Also included are court documents, transcripts, reports and publications relating to the investigations of the I.P.R. and its staff completed by the United States government, including photocopies of F.B.I. files, reports of the McCarran Subcommittee, and publications of the Special Committee to Investigate Tax-Exempt Foundations and Comparable Organizations.

The fonds consists of reports and studies generated by Physical Plant and/or Plant Operations for various buildings and facilities between 1968 and 1983, and correspondence, reports, committee minutes, and published materials from UBC Utilities 1958-2001. The records in this fonds relate to both Physical Plant and its later title Land and Building Services.

The fonds consists of one bound volume containing 57 pages of Agriculture Club minutes for the period 1928-1935.

This fonds consists of 12 series; meeting minutes, newspaper clippings, welfare funds, videos, regulations and legislation, related organizations, general business records, land referrals, herring (roe), financial, First Nations, and salmon. Each of the series relates to the F.V.O.A.'s work with fishing and water concerns. The same issues defined within each of these series are also documented through the newspaper clippings. The minutes span over 40 years, beginning in 1938, and include general, committee, director's and membership meetings. The fonds also includes copies of legislation and regulations relating to various fishing and water related concerns, such as ports and harbours, maritime codes, vessel construction, shipping, and research. The F.V.O.A.'s ongoing cooperative work with relevant outside groups is documented through numerous drafts, proposals, agreements, reports, and correspondence. The videos are of the Skeena River Steelhead, Salmon, the Sportfish Observer Program and First Nations fishing rights. There is a large amount of land referral material (the application for use of Crown land) including several maps. With reference directly to fish; there is information on herring (roe) related issues, and a significant amount of documents covering Salmon. A vast portion of the Salmon series deals with Canadian-U.S. negotiations regarding poaching, water boundaries, salmon shares, runs and catches. The fonds provides overall insight into the workings of the F.V.O.A.

The fonds consists of scrapbooks constructed by members of the Theta Chapter of the Phrateres, from some of the sub-chapters, and from the UCLA Alpha chapter, to document their activities. Scrapbooks are composed of clippings, pamphlets, photographs, and drawings relating to various charitable and social events sponsored by the organization. The records also include minutes from Theta Chapter and Presidents' and Social Reports. Other materials include membership lists, a guest book for an alumni tea, and handbooks for the UBC Theta Chapter and for the University of Washington chapter.

Fonds consists of records documenting the programs and activities of the Radio Society / CiTR (including DISCORDER), including textual records and sound recordings of a variety of programs, radio plays, campus events, public service announcements, photographs of the radio studio and from different events, and advertisements produced by the Radio Society for broadcast on its station (CYVR/CiTR) or affiliated radio stations. In addition, the fonds includes recordings of interviews conducted on behalf of the Alma Mater society relating to its art collection. Fonds also consists of materials related to the administration of the radio station including information about licensing, executive meetings, policies, job descriptions, and staff training.

The fonds consists of three bound minute books covering the period 1942-1950.

Fonds consists of laboratory manuals published by the UBC Department of Physics between 1949 and 1966 (most dated 1957-1962); mimeographed hand-outs for experiments and other assignments; hand-written lecture notes; and a 1944 Canadian Army physics laboratory manual. Many of the manuals are annotated. The manuals are bound, but the notes and hand-outs are loose; all have been placed in acid-free folders. They are arranged by course number, and then chronologically; unnumbered materials, and folders containing unsorted material from various courses, were placed at the end.
Fonds also includes promotional materials, many of which relate specifically to the Department of Physics at university-wide Open Houses, annual reports from the Department of Physics, notes made by Professor John Warren regarding x-rays and particle physics, as well as photographs taken of individuals, groups, and events related to the Department of Physics.

The fonds consists of correspondence, reports, and minutes which document Rosenbluth's involvement with various associations and committees including the UBC Board of Governors and the Canadian Economic Association. The bulk of the material consists of files from the 1960s when he was chairman of the Salaries Committee of the Canadian Association of University Teachers.

Contains the operational records of the Vancouver Fishermen's Settlement Services from 1943 to 1974. Records include annual and monthly financial summaries, meeting minutes, manager's reports, insurance agreements, and correspondence.

Fonds consists of photocopies of the wills of Emily Carr (1945) and Ira Dilworth (1954), regarding the ownership of Carr's copyright. The fonds also includes correspondence (1967-1983) from artist Gordon Smith addressed to John Parnall and his family, as well as printed material regarding Smith. The Women's Research Centre fonds consists of eleven series. The records deal with various aspects of women's lives and focus on racial, class, and gendered issues such as pay equity, women in the labour force, sexual harassment, immigration and the gendered effects of cultural transition, isolation, women's health and the Tobacco Industry, wife battering, sexual assault, and the strengths and weaknesses of women's shelters, women and the law, political responses to women's situation, and the development of strategies for changing women's lives. In addition, the Women's Research Centre fonds contains administrative records of the organization. Multiple-media records were created and used by the Women's Research Centre in the course of their research such as textual records, canvass banners, publications, maps, newspapers and newspaper clippings. Records created and used by the Women's Research Centre include the Women's Research Centre and BC Women's Studies Association constitution and mission statement, contracts, grant applications, project proposals, various research guides, surveys, statistics, various outlines, budgets, address lists, handwritten and typed notes, correspondence, facsimiles, discussion papers, extensive interdisciplinary manuscripts and abstracts created by members of the BC Women's Studies Association, extensive questionnaires and interview transcripts, drafts, reports, agendas, memos, briefs, meeting minutes, bulletins, press releases, various financial materials such as bills, receipts, expense claim forms, cheque stubs, invoices, and income and expense sheets, workshop registration and evaluation forms, membership application forms, newspapers, pamphlets, brochures, newsletters, articles, books, log books, bibliographies, purchase orders, literature reviews, and maps.
