Capilano Timber Company
The fonds consists of two separate streams of documentation. The first consists of documents, photographs, and artifacts pertaining to the operations of a succession of sawmills and wood manufacturing plants founded by Stanley Merriam Simpson) and assumed by his son, Horace B. Simpson in the Okanagan area.
The second stream consists of the materials generated by Sharron J. Simpson, a Kelowna author, publisher, and activist. Sharron J. Simpson's records within this aggregation are primarily in relation to legal proceedings against the City of Kelowna in pursuit of the maintenance of the Simpson Covenant, which limits use of waterfront land on a former mill site sold by S.M. Simpson to the City under restrictive terms of sale in 1946. In the 2000s, the City sought to dissolve the Covenant; Sharron J. Simpson founded a society to challenge this initiative.
In total fonds consists of approximately 2,642 photographs, in various forms, including some duplicates. Records provide documentation of legal proceedings, finances, substantial mill operations, safety initiatives, administration, civic engagement, publicity, and labour relations relating to mill business, general family research, and writing samples. Artifacts include exemplars of production and souvenir materials.
The British Columbia Fruit Growers’ Association (BCFGA) was founded in 1889 in Vancouver in response to an increase in fruit cultivation in the province during the latter part of the nineteenth century, and a corresponding need for a more coalesced marketing strategy. The first Okanagan-based member of the association was Alfred Postill (1852-1897), who was champion of cooperative fruit marketing. The BCFGA’s first convention was held in Kamloops, BC, in 1910, at the apex of trend in declining BCFGA membership over the years immediately prior, and was convened in an effort to recharge its appeal to fruit growers. Early conventions were concerned with administrative reorganization and stabilization. Over time, the BCFGA was instrumental in integrating the marketing of Okanagan fruit into a complex North American supply chain. The BCFGA is still active at the time of the preparation of this finding aid.
Scope and content
Fonds consists exclusively of a series of portfolios documenting BCFGA conventions from 1932 to 2015. These portfolios contain reports and briefs; letters; agendas, proceedings and resolutions; Presidential addresses; committee and subcommittee records.
The Allison family traces paternal lineage to John Fall Allison (1827-1897), who arrived in what would be named the Princeton area in about 1860. John Fall Allison is the namesake of the Allison Pass, which connects the Similkameen to the Fraser Valley.
Allison married Nora Yakimtikum in 1862. “Nora and John Fall had one girl and two boys, but when in 1868 John Fall found a white partner, Susan Louisa Moir, the daughter of a Ceylon tea plantation owner, he started a second family. Nora’s sons accompanied her to the reserve and remained within First Nations culture, while her daughter Lily stayed within the Allison household as a servant, and after Lily married, her family, from which Scott descends, shifted more towards European culture.” (http://www.vancouver-historical-society.ca/PDF/March2015.pdf)
This portion of the Allison Family fonds is associated with the branch of the family with the surname Thomas, or, the descendants of John Fall Allison’s daughter Caroline Allison, who married William Heald Thomas, and with whom she raised four children.
Scope and content
Fonds consists of the papers, photographs, and compiled collections relating to one branch of the Allison Family of Princeton, BC, with predominant coverage of the branch of the family with the surname Thomas. This branch has its genesis with Caroline Allison (1878-1975), daughter of John Fall Allison, who married William Heald Thomas. Their four children, particularly Roy Edward Thomas (1920-1999) are represented in this portion of the family fonds.
The fonds consists of a typed transcript of Ainsworth's autobiography written between 1877 and 1892.

The Alcuin Society Fonds reflects the activities of the society since its creation in 1965. The series consists predominantly of textual records, including administrative records, financial records, reports, correspondence, newsletters and promotional material. Also included are photographs, published material, brochures, and memorabilia. Correspondence is predominant throughout the fonds and in each series it is interfiled with related records.
The fonds consists of correspondence and legal documentation sent between Ben Alexander and the office of Indian Agent, later the Department of Indian and Northern Affairs. The fonds reflects official business such as land claims, financial transactions, and grievances and also deals with Alexander's personal business with the tribe.
The fonds consists of minutes (1949-1983), subject files (1952-1984), agreements (1960-1985), constitutions and by-laws (1963-1985), membership cards and applications (1963-1984). Also included are records of the Writers' Guild (B.C. Branch) which consist of correspondence (1977-1985), minutes of the B.C. The Angeli-Dennis collection consists of the diaries (1855-1913), manuscripts, financial records and correspondence of William Michael Rossetti. Also included are the manuscripts, correspondence and financial records of Dante Gabriel Rossetti (1842-1882), Christina Georgina Rossetti (1853-1894), Ford Madox Brown (1852-1993), Gabriele Rossetti and other members of the Rossetti family. In addition, the collection includes materials of Robert Browning, Thomas Landseer, William North, Algernon Swinburne and James Thomson.

Anglo-British Columbia Packing Company
The collection consists of records of the provincial office of the Cooperative Commonwealth Federation and general research material pertaining to socialism and the labour movement. It consists of minutes, scrapbooks, office correspondence and files relating to party organization and records of committees, CCF clubs, constituencies, federal ridings and election. The collection also includes records generated by Arthur Turner as CCF Whip and Arnold Webster as a provincial party leader. Subject files pertaining to early socialists and clippings about international affairs were created by Dorothy Steeves. Subsequent accessions added to the collection have included the records of Angus MacInnis, Francis McKenzie and former provincial leader Ernest Winch.
The fonds consists of minutes, membership lists, financial records, correspondence and printed material generated by the Archaeological Society of British Columbia between 1966 and 1985. The fonds also includes a run of the Society's newsletter The Midden and a scrapbook illustrating the activities of the organization from 1966 to 1972.

The Correspondence series contains the following subseries: General correspondence, Editorial correspondence and Correspondent-specific correspondence. Art, Historical and Scientific Association of Vancouver
The fonds consists of financial records (1934-1953), stock certificates (1899-1901) and correspondence relating to financial matters. It also includes financial records of Ashcroft Irrigated Lands Ltd. (1952-1960), stock certificates (1953-1961) and correspondence relating to the development of East Branch Irrigation (1952-1956), as well as a 1918 report which includes photographs and plans. There are also drawings pertaining to a power house and dam (1949-1953).

Association in Canada Serving Organizations for Human Settlements
The fonds consists of records relating to the ABPBC’s activities. Records cover the period of time from the ABPBC’s inception to 2015 and pertain primarily to the book publishing industry in the province of British Columbia. The ABPBC’s activities included applying for funding from a range of provincial and federal organizations and governments, holding meetings, advocating for their members to the provincial government, promoting their members, undertaking special projects, and researching areas pertinent to the provincial book publishing industry. Specific administrative activities the organization undertook included maintaining its multi-level membership base, managing finances and funding applications, electing executive teams, and overseeing various projects.

Association of Book Publishers of British Columbia
Fonds consists of records of the Vancouver Chapter of the Association of Records Managers (ARMA). Records in the fonds have come in multiple accruals. The first six accruals are described and inventoried in the attached pdf. The 2014 accrual is described and inventoried within this database record. Fonds materials include a history of the Vancouver Chapter, incorporation file, annual reports, financial records, minutes, correspondence, photographs from events, printed and published material, awards and award documents, and clippings relating to the activities of the Association.
Association of Records Managers and Administrators. Vancouver Chapter
The fonds consists of records related to the Association of University and College Employees' (AUCE's) provincial and local chapters activities, efforts, publications, and ephemera. Records span the Provincial and local unions' initial accreditation in 1973, to the Provincial union disbanding in 1985, and then follow the Local 1 (University of British Columbia) chapter through to its merger with CUPE in 1985 and forward into the late 2000's. The fonds is comprised of the following series: Executive, Advocacy and Bargaining, Committees, AUCE Local Chapters, Correspondence and Related Material, and Photographs, Publications, News Clippings and Ephemera.
Executive series: contains records relating to the executive functioning of the provincial union and Local 1 union chapters. Record types include union constitutions, by-laws, and amendments, minutes and agendas of executive meetings, and executive correspondence.
Advocacy and Bargaining series: comprised of records relating to the unions' efforts to advocate on behalf of their members and bargain as a collective unit. Record types include dockets, agendas, and minutes of Annual Conventions and Special Conventions, as well as minutes of the meetings of the General Membership, records pertaining to collective agreements between the workers and employers, including union contracts, and records following strikes, working conditions, and specific efforts that the AUCE and Local 1 undertook in response to provincial governmental and administrative changes.
Committees series: contains records related to the Local 1 and AUCE committees, including the Strike Committee, Contract Committee, Provincial Health and Safety Committee, Provincial Affiliation Committee, Communications Committee, Parking Fee Committee, Grievance Committee, and Merger Committee. Record types include meeting agendas, minutes, newsletters and correspondence, as well as related reports and materials interfiled with committee records.
AUCE Local Chapters Series: consists of records related to chapters 2 through 6 of the AUCE. The records feature the activities of the local chapters of Local 2, at Simon Fraser University (SFU), Local 3, at Notre Dame University of Nelson, Local 4, at Capilano College, Local 5, at College of New Caledonia, and Local 6, Teaching Support Staff at SFU (TSSU). Record types include meeting agendas, minutes, correspondence, contracts, and records related to local chapter strikes and contract negotiations, as well as secession from AUCE.
Correspondence and Related Material Series: consists of incoming and outgoing correspondence of AUCE Local 1, as well as related materials interfiled with correspondence. Record types primarily consist of letters, though some other materials such as minutes and agendas of meetings are present.
Finally, the Photographs, Publications, News Clippings, and Ephemera series features photographs, slides, third party publications, news clippings, scrapbooks, pins, posters, and other ephemera documenting current events, legislation affecting the union and its members, as well as provincial and local union strikes, protests and rallies.

The collection consists of operating statements for Bloedel, Stewart and Welch Ltd., Bloedel Operation (1925-1950), Sarita River Operation (1947-1950) and Sproat Lake Operation (1942-1950).
The fonds consists of correspondence files including founding operations and editorial issues; project files include planning and production of books (collaborations with I. H.
