The fonds consists of minutes, correspondence, and reports which document the activities of the executive and of various athletic clubs.

The fonds consists of correspondence, documents, reports, clippings and printed materials relating to basketball (1930s, 1945-1946) and Hardwick's involvement in the C.A.B.C. and B.C.A.B.A.. Also included is an article by Walter Hardwick entitled "Basketball in Canada, 1939".

The collection consists of documents, archival records, photographs, ephemera and artifacts related to three broad themes: British Columbia history, immigration and settlement and the Canadian Pacific Railway Company. Included are the archival fonds of the Yip family and Yip Sang Company, the Dart Coon Club and Chinese Freemasons of Victoria, Hugh G. Robinson (regarding the S.S. Greenhill Park Explosion), Rev. MacDonnell (regarding the Clandonald colony of Scottish immigrants in Alberta) and the British Columbia Coast Steamship Service. Includes documents, ephemera and artifacts of the Canadian Pacific Railway Company, including records of travelers on CPR rail and steamships.

The fonds consists of logbooks, trip register, meeting minutes, and photograph albums. The logbooks and trip registers chronicle the general activities of the Varsity Outdoor Club and the activities at their various cabin locations, with comments by many who use the facilities. The files on meeting minutes contain minutes and sometimes copies of the VOCene, the club's newsletter, or advertisement and informational material related to the organization's activities. The photograph albums include black and white and coloured prints from several decades of the club's existence.

The Uno Langmann Family Collection of B.C. Photographs, donated by Uno and Dianne Langmann and Uno Langmann Limited, consists of more than 20,000 rare and unique early photographs from the 1850s to the 1970s. It is considered the premiere private collection of early provincial photos, and an important illustrated history of early photographic methods. The photographs were taken by a wide range of photographers. Some well-known photographers represented in the collection include William Notman, Charles MacMunn, Frederick Dally, Charles Horetzky, Charles Gentile, Philip Timms, Yucho Chow, R. Maynard, and Leonard Frank.

Fonds consists of a scrapbook put together by the UBC women’s curling team. The scrapbook contains team lists and statistics, programmes, newspaper clippings, and photographs, and documents UBC women’s curling from 1959 to 1984.

The Tremaine Arkley Croquet Collection contains over 2,400 paintings, illustrations, engravings, advertisements, photographs and other ephemera depicting the game of croquet throughout the years. The images range from fine art to cartoons and everything in between, and show the rise in the game’s popularity in England and America in the 19th and 20th centuries. Many items in the collection show gender roles, as croquet was one of the first games that men and women played together.

The Thomas K. Fleming research collection consists of materials related to the settler colonial history of British Columbia, and more broadly, the Pacific Northwest and Canada. Record types include correspondence, newsletters, press clippings, printed materials, notes, maps, legal documents, as well as Fleming`s stamp collection and associated records. Historical records in the collection include content primarily from the nineteenth to early twentieth century on such subjects as forestry, travel, commerce, and postal history. The collection has been arranged into two series: Historical Records and Research Subject Files series, and Stamp Collection and Related Materials series.

Fonds contains records from the School of Kinesiology pertaining to their academic and facility planning from the 1952 to 2004. This includes School Council minutes, academic reviews, annual reports, and facility upgrade plans and reports. The physical arrangement of the records as they were originally received has been maintained.

The fonds consists of materials created or collected by Osborne that relate primarily to his work with the various local, provincial, national and international sports and athletic organizations throughout his career.

Fonds consists primarily of textual materials related to Herring's forestry career. Materials related to his extensive interest in the forestry industry are also present, including documents related to various lectures and conferences in which he participated. Materials include correspondence, reference materials, maps, blueprints, financial documents, handwritten notes, and more.

Also included in the fonds are photographs, slides, and moving images; some of these are images related to forestry, while most show scenes related to Herring's personal interests and travels, many of which involve hunting and fishing, or attending Highland games and other cultural celebrations and events.

Fonds illustrates Brown’s time as a conscientious objector in British Columbia during WWII as well as various travels around BC prior to his time in the work camps. Brown had weekends free and received some leave; a fellow Objector lent him a camera, which he used to document his work areas and living quarters, as well as recreational travels and off-camp activities. He sent the film back to Vancouver for processing.

The fonds includes three photo albums produced by Brown, and three files of textual records. These are comprised of personal and government correspondence and a diary.

Subseries consists of an acquisition by Doug Cox of a Collection of photographic negatives from the newspaper The Penticton Herald.
Coverage includes themes such as the cultural events, sports, rodeo, telecommunications, buildings and community infrastructure, aviation, industry, disasters.

Subseries consists of a photographic and oral history record of Penticton civic life from approximately 1910 through the mid-1970s, with predominant coverage during the middle decades of the twentieth century. Materials relate to sports, cultural events, landmarks and buildings, industry, transportation & infrastructure, and agriculture. Many of the photographs can likely be attributed to the Penticton Herald, but provenance is not confirmed in all cases.

The fonds consists of copies of Todd's articles (1915-1952), Todd family genealogies and a handwritten travel journal and accompanying photograph album from a trip to Europe, Egypt and Greece (1923).

The fonds consists of three bound volumes containing photographs, clippings and memorabilia relating to Money's various activities. It includes detailed listings of the type and amount of game caught during his hunting and fishing trips throughout the world (1884-1940). These volumes also chronicle his military career.

Fonds consists of minutes of the M.A.A. executive; correspondence with the A.M.S., the Western Cananda Intercollegiate Athletic Union (W.C.I.A.U.), the various University athletic clubs, and other bodies; financial records; and records of awards given to University athletes.

Fonds consists of materials documenting the lives and careers of Lorne and May Brown and includes two self-published biographies (Lorne Brown Remembered and May Brown – A collection of stories), four photographs of Lorne Brown, a newspaper clipping about Camp Deka, and some of Lorne Brown’s UBC personnel records.

This fonds consists of a scrapbook of material about the writer, fly-fisher and conservationist Roderick Haig-Brown. A major section of the scrapbook is an ongoing correspondence between Straight and Haig-Brown regarding fishing and conservation issues on Vancouver Island. There are also numerous photos, newspaper clippings and magazine articles about Haig-Brown both during his lifetime and posthumously.

The fonds consists of signed menus and meeting notices (1960-1972), membership lists (1961-1970), correspondence (1961-1977), undated poems written by Roy Daniells about Radish members, and miscellaneous documents.

Biographical sketch
Joseph Gleason Harris (b. 1910-07-06, d.1994-12-26) arrived in Penticton in 1917. At age 16 he was invited by Frank Richter, Jr., to the Richter Ranch in Keremeos, from which point he visited the Cathedral Mountains for the first time. Later, in 1939, Joe Harris and Herb Clark of Keremeos launched a pack horse business which would take tourists to visit the Cathedrals. In 1944 he entered the ranching industry and in 1946 took over what was previously Ralph Overton’s ranch. This site was later home to Apex Mountain Guest Ranch. 1946 also saw the launch of a heavy equipment business.
Joe Harris and Margaret “Peggy” Burgess married April 4, 1945 and they made their home in Penticton. Together they raised seven children.
Joe Harris also was heavily involved in civic service. Harris served as the chairman of the Central Welfare Committee for fifteen years throughout the 1930s and 1940s. From 1950-1957, Harris also served as an Alderman on the Penticton City Council. Harris was a member of the Penticton Hospital Board for sixteen years and initiated a local volunteer search and rescue group. Harris participated in many local rescues himself.
Harris was also instrumental in local heritage initiatives and worked as the curator of the R.N. Atkinson (Penticton) Museum from 1973-1984. His deep knowledge of the history of the area poised him to deliver educational lectures to various organizations and to serve as president of the Penticton branch of the Okanagan Historical Society for five years.
Harris was an avid photographer, and won many awards. His photographic record documents local places and events throughout the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s.
Harris was a close associate and valuable historical source for Doug Cox during his writing career.

Scope and content
Subseries consists of original photographs taken by Joe Harris as well as some pieces collected by Joe Harris and then subsequently transferred to the custody of Doug Cox. Predominant photographic coverage relates to the Cathedral Mountains, south of Keremeos, BC, during the 1930s. Includes a sequence of interviews with Joe Harris, and some associated transcripts.

Fonds consists of Jim Coleman's published articles from multiple newspapers (predominantly the Globe & Mail and Vancouver Province), and magazine articles published in both Maclean's and Saturday Night magazines. The fonds also consists of original manuscripts from Coleman's two books: Hoofprint on my Heart, and Long Ride on a Hobby Horse.

The fonds consists of records created by or collected by Ian Waddell during his legal and political career. It contains six series: Community law, Mackenzie Valley Pipeline Commission, Federal politics, Provincial politics, Select Standing Committee on Aboriginal Affairs, and International works.Three series follow Waddell's career path (Community law, Provincial politics and Federal politics). The International work series spans both provincial and federal timelines and therefore is its own series. The Mackenzie Valley Pipeline Inquiry and Select Standing Committee on Aboriginal Affairs are series that represent two important landmarks of Waddell's career that dealt with important environmental and aboriginal issues.

Files are often subject focused, although some pertain to meetings, events, and organizations. Subject files typically contain multiple document types, including correspondence, published and draft reports, speeches and lectures, press clippings, published copies and drafts of legislation, notes, news releases, and itineraries and agendas.

These files were received following the completion of Waddell's memoir, which is noteworthy due to the potential influence on his arrangement of files, the contents of some files, as well as the intermittent inclusion of some records well outside the predominant date range of a series or file.

The collection contains materials related to Ian McDonald's Master's thesis research on the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Local 213 “Class conflict and political factionalism: a history of Local 213 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, 1901-1961," and related to the activities of his father, Les McDonald, a trade union activist who belonged to Local 213 but was eventually suspended for leading the Lenkurt strike of 1966. Les McDonald was also a multi-sport athlete, and is credited with introducing the triathlon into the Olympics; some materials in the collection relate to Les McDonald's involvement in various sport and environmental organizations, as well as some of his personal papers. In addition to what he received from his father, Ian McDonald was also given papers by former IBEW Local 213 business manager Art O’Keeffe and Barry Sharbo, a board member of the Canadian Union of Electrical Workers (UE), as well as Alfie Huston, the former President of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 213 from 1985-1988, which are included within the collection.

The collection is largely comprised of newspaper and photocopied journal articles, correspondence between members of IBEW Local 213, legal documentation, newsletters and other printed ephemera related to IBEW Local 213.

The collection also contains sound recordings of interviews with numerous figures in IBEW Local 213 created by Ian McDonald during his thesis research. McDonald's thesis, submitted for the completion of a Master of Arts in History at Simon Fraser University, can be found in the Summit database: http://summit.sfu.ca/item/6361.

The collection also contains background materials accumulated by McDonald while writing his book “The Red Baron of IBEW 213,” including digital sound recordings of interviews, research articles, notebooks, consent forms, a draft royalty agreement, a draft chapter and a press marketing questionnaire.

The fonds consists of fifteen letters from Roderick Haig-Brown (1962-1973) which reveal their mutual interest in sports fishing, a copy of Haig-Brown's address to the Steelhead Symposium in Lake Tahoe (1973), a photograph of Haig-Brown at the Symposium and a photograph of a speckled trout.

Fonds consists of records relating to Dr. Harry Mark Draggatt's philatelic interests and contains biographical information about Dr. Daggett including his birth certificate, grade school and high school report cards, University Diplomas, and a number of photographs. The fonds is made up of three series as determined by the creator. The series are Literature Study Group, BA Clips, and Personal.

The fonds consists of records from the Amateur Athletic Union of Canada (1910-1916), the B.C. Amateur Athletic Union (1911-1914), and the B.C. Amateur Swimming Association (1913), together with programs for athletic events (1912-1915), clippings (1913-1915), and a photograph and printed material.

This fonds consists of documents, archival records, photographs, ephemera, and artifacts pertaining to the life and work of Hanne Wassermann Walker. These materials relate to several broad themes: health and fitness, travel, friends and family, immigration to North America, and art/photography. Hanne's collection provides a window into the early 20th century physical culture movement; the experience of Jewish Europeans in the lead-up to, during, and after World War II; and the landscapes of British Columbia between the 1940s and 1970s. The fonds is comprised of manuscripts and published materials, correspondence, government records, photographs (including negatives, metadata, and albums), and more. In addition to Hanne's extensive collection of letters, postcards, personal and official records, and assorted odds and ends (e.g. household receipts, business cards, recipes, etc.), the fonds also contains the records of her husband, George Dickson Walker.

Fonds consists of eleven black and white photographic prints of various sizes, showing Gavin Dirom and various other UBC rugby and track athletes Vic Oldum, Oliver Camozzi, and coaches Norm Burley and Gordon "Doc" Burke.

Fonds consists of scrapbooks on football, baseball and golf clippings from newspapers and sports periodicals, some of Gnup's game strategies, his writings on sports philosophy, and a set of clippings of his column in The Courier, "Gnupermania." Fonds includes guest lists, correspondence, and other material relating to the annual Pigskin Party thrown by Gnup. Fonds also includes personal correspondence and professional correspondence concerning Gnup's responsibilities as coach of the UBC Thunderbirds. Fonds consists of 16 series: Clippings series, Student Term Papers series, Game Strategies series, Football Clinics series, Player Statistics series, Report Literature series, Notebooks series, Programs series, Personal series, Public Speaking Material series, Book on Canadian Football series, Physical Education Department series, Pigskin Party series, Training Camps and Rosters series, Athletic Associations series, Correspondence series and Photograph series.

The fonds consists of scrapbooks, clippings, photographs, correspondence, speeches, publications and awards that chronicle Reads career as a rower and, more particularly as a rowing coach.

Volunteer members and elected directors of the Federation of Mountain Clubs of British Columbia (FMCBC) created and kept records as part of their work carrying out the Federation’s major mandate: organizing mountain clubs from throughout the province of British Columbia to represent collective interests for self-propelled access to wilderness areas.

Ranging in date from the 1970’s to ca. 2018, records in the fonds document the FMCBC’s major activities in support of their mandate: administrative and executive activities, the creation of various committees and work undertaken by these committees, advocacy for various lands and parks throughout the province to be considered and maintained for public access, and educating and communicating to both members and the public on topics of relevant interest.

While the FMCBC as an organizational body created the majority of these records, some records in the fonds were created by related organizations, such as the British Columbia Mountaineering Club, governmental committees, or natural resource extraction companies. The majority of records within the fonds are textual, though some other record types are present, including maps, photographs and ephemera.

The fonds contains the following series: Administrative and Executive series, Committees Series, Lands and Parks series, and Education and Communication series.

Fonds consists of a scrapbook of prize-winning models created between 1961 and 1964 and sponsored by the Association of Professional Engineers of B.C. presented to the Engineering Undergraduate Society.

The fonds consists of textual documents and audiovisual materials that relate to the filming and production of “Champions for Change.” The textual materials include synopsis and scripts, tape logs, shot lists, transcripts and interview transcripts. A number of the tapes (including #3, #9, #10, #16, #17, #20 and #21) are not transcribed. The audiovisual materials are 26 videotapes, including master copies of the three-part series “Champions for Change,” the master dub tape, and additional footage of interviews with key individuals. The individuals interviewed include Chantal Benoit, Jeff Adams, Chantal Petitclerc, B. MacPherson, Kristine Bacharach, Travis Engen, Dan Gangier, Eric Gagnon, and Rebecca Borneman. The tapes also include stock footage and B-roll shots.

The fonds consists of predominantly of photographs. Photographic coverage includes: N.R. “Buck” Crump as President of the CPR, CPR employees, the 1910 Rogers Pass avalanche, wrecks, fires, steamers, engines, stations, and scenery.

Series consists of Dorothy and W.J. Zoellner’s family home movies. All the movies were captured on 8mm film. Home movies depict various family events such as school events, family vacations, weddings, and new babies.

Fonds consists of a typewritten narrative of McKechnie’s and classmate George Gilchrist’s 1919 hiking trip through the Bridge River region, and two photocopied 1977 articles about his dog-sled journey from Hudson Bay to Cambridge Bay in the western Arctic.
