Biographical history

Janet Jenkins (nee Brown) was born in Worcester, England. She graduated from Whitelands College in London in 1957. In 1956 she married Trevor Jenkins. They came to Canada in 1957 and settled in British Columbia. Jenkins taught at schools in Prince George, Vancouver and on Vancouver Island.

The fonds consists of diaries, photographs, and correspondence of Janet Jenkins. The photographs parallel the diaries and correspondence in documenting her life. Also included is a postscript to the diaries written by her husband, Trevor Jenkins in 1991.

The original accession was donated to Rare Books and Special Collections at UBC Library by the Trevor Jenkins in October 1991. A subsequent accrual was donated by Trevor Jenkins in January 2016.
