Arrangement

This sous-fonds contains four groups of photographs. While connected to individual sous-fonds based on creator, it was determined that separating out photographs which had already been assigned RBSC identifiers was prudent. The BC numbers in the sous-fonds correspond to sous-fonds as follows: BC1614-(1-961) with the Malcolm Lowry Papers; BC1769-(1-7) with the Einar Neilson Papers; BC1770-(1-4) with the William Templeton Papers; and BC2113-(58-212) with the Harvey Burt Papers.

732 photographs were originally housed in three albums at the time of donation. Photographs were rehoused and moved to Photograph Boxes 1, 2, and 3. The empty albums are retained by RBSC. Descriptions of the albums’ contents are included in the file-level description. The corresponding BC numbers for the album photographs are written on the pages of the albums where the photographs were originally located. Negatives held at the back of the albums have been moved to Photograph Box 4.

Several photographs are missing from the Malcolm Lowry Photographs series, some randomly scattered throughout and two large consecutive groups (BC1614-(348-399) and BC1614-(924-949). The original finding aid only describes Lowry photographs up to BC1614-154, so no descriptions of the missing photographs are available.
