The collection consists of records associated with Librarian Ture Erickson's participation on the Day of Concern Committee in 1984. The material begins early in 1984 and continues through to the September "Day of Concern." Included are handwritten minutes of the meetings, printed material, correspondence, clippings, memorabilia, posters and copies of addresses given at the Robson Square Media Centre.

[Local 2 Strike bulletins and correspondence]

Records include correspondence, strike bulletins, newsletters, fliers, planning materials, map of SFU campus, outline of personnel deployment system, and open correspondence regarding the arrest of striking union members.

Michael Bullock fonds

The fonds consists of a variety of materials, but the focus is the creative writing of Bullock, in many genres. Represented in collections are prose and poetry, both published and unpublished, along with hundreds of individual works, covering not only poetry and prose poems, but academic essays, autobiographical accounts, and plays, as well as a prodigious amount of notes. The fonds also contains material relating to Bullocks work as a translator and includes a variety of genres translated into English from the original French, German, or Italian. The fonds also includes correspondence of both a professional and personal nature. The correspondence from 1935 illustrates the business life of a professional writer; it also contains a wealth of personal correspondence that helps solidify Bullock's stature as a writer both locally and internationally. Impressive figures such as Marcel Bealu, Max Frisch, and Joy Kogawa are intermingled with less well-known artists, friends, and family in the correspondence, and provide valuable commentary, over nearly 70 years, into the creative path chosen by Bullock.

Topics discussed include committee nominations, a presentation from CUPE Local 2278 (UBC teaching assistants), financial statements, committee reports on grievances, benefits, job evaluation, a speaker from the Nicaraguan Literacy Crusade, affiliation, potential resignation of the president, referendum results, budget cuts, strikes, the collective agreement and negotiations, bylaws, and constitutional amendments.

[News clippings and other materials 1992 strike]

File contains multiple copies of fliers dated March 13, 1992 to February 10, 1992, and 3 copies of the Ubyssey "The Strike Issue" dated March 24, 1992. Topics discussed include contract negotiations between UBC and CUPE Locals 116 and 2950, strike actions and picketing, a student sit-in supporting CUPE, wages, a news bulletin from Law Students in Support of CUPE, an open letter to UBC from a group of concerned academics, a letter from the UBC president, and the impact of the strike. File also contains a photocopied diagram of the the strike structure.

File contains outgoing correspondence and other material dated January 15, 1983 to December 7, 1983. Other records include press releases, fliers for upcoming events, ballots, reprinted AUCE newsletter articles, candidate statements, and membership meeting minutes. Peggy Thompson Film Research Collection

The collection is an assemblage of movie memorabilia (predominantly Noir and Western), 20cm x 25cm film-stills, 28 cm x 36 cm lobby cards, and ephemera amassed by Thompson as a part of her research for her books Hard-Boiled and Tall in the Saddle. Additionally, there are Science Fiction stills and posters, Spanish-language lobby cards, 36cm x 91cm insert posters, and miscellaneous stills from other 20th-century cinema.

[Provincial Bargaining Strategies conference records]

File contains materials relating to the Association of University and College Employees' Bargaining Strategies Conference, held February 5-7th, 1982, as well as several articles and copies of legislation. Topics discussed include collective agreements, negotiations, contract language, job evaluations, sexual harassment, wage increases, benefits, bargaining, information on court cases, the Capilano College Labour Studies Programme from Spring 1982, copies of the 1979 Labour Code, the Essential Services Disputes Act (1977), the Employment Standards Act (1980), an article by David C. McPhillips entitled "The Duty to Bargain in Good Faith," "Labour Law and Industrial Relations in Canada" by H.W. Arthurs et al (Butterworths, Toronto, 1981), "Labour Relations and the Collective Bargaining Cycle" by G.E. Phillips (Butterworths, Toronto, 1981). Topics discussed include Operation Solidarity and new labour legislation, per capita dues, the Solidarity Coalition, opposition to the government budget, rallies, an AMS (UBC Alma Mater Society) Special General Meeting, formation of a People's Commission for Policy Alternatives and their activities, employment proposals, trade union support actions including strikes and demonstrations, community programs, education, Expo 86, an Operation Solidarity bargaining conference and strategy discussion, the report of the public sector committee, the 1984 B.C.
