History
Oscar Solibakke was associated with gold mining in British Columbia from 1926 until his death. As fiscal agent for the Cariboo Gold Quartz Mining Company, he was largely responsible for the successful promotion of the company's stock between 1927 and 1934. His advertising efforts and the financial success of the Company helped to advance the Cariboo Mining District to the status of a proven lode-gold region and played a significant role in the "Second Cariboo Gold Rush" of the 1930s. Solibakke was also active in promoting and directing several other gold properties during the 1930s and 1940s, notably the Cariboo-Hudson Gold Mines, Cariboo Amalgamated Gold Mines and Pine Grove Placer.
