The fonds consists of moving images, sound recordings and photographs created during Alan Twigg's production of the film Spilsbury's Coast and accompanying textual materials, as well as moving images and textual materials created during his production of the BC Book World television series. The fonds also consists of textual, photographic, sound recordings, and moving images related to Twigg's interest in and association with writer George Woodcock, particulaly in the early 1990s. Additionally, the fonds includes files of textual and photographic materials related to authors of British Columbia, created as part of Twigg's role as publisher of BC Bookworld.

The fonds consists of minutes, correspondence, reports, legal documents, financial records, plans, sound recordings, published and printed material generated by the UFAWU, its locals and predecessor organizations including the United Fishermen's Federal Union, the Pacific Coast Fishermen's Union, and the Fish, Cannery and Reduction Plant and Allied Workers Union, as well as office files from former Presidents William Rigby, Homer Stevens, and Jack Nichols.

The collection consists of five letters (1863-1871); a diary belonging to Charles O. Eaton of Boston; a list of clothing and other garrison camp equipment of Lt. William McKinley, Jr.; two broadsides; a printed report of a meeting of the citizens of Bobb County, Georgia (1860); a publication of the Manchester Union and Emancipation Society; a lock of Mrs. Robert E. Lee's hair and an engraving of General Ulysses S. Grant and family.

In addition, the fonds consists of the records of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen (.27 m, 1942-1968), the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen (5.25 m, 1919-1969), the Vancouver Joint Council of Railway Unions (.55 m, 1971-1984), and the Vancouver Rail Task Force, (1 m, mainly 1977-1982).

The fonds consists of minute books of both regular meetings (1889-1956) and other Council Executive Board (1907-1920) of the Vancouver Trades and Labour Council (VTLC), affiliated union files and subject files of the Vancouver and District Labour Council (1956-1983). Fonds also includes minutes from the B.C. Federationist (1912-1922), the Vancouver Labour Temple Company (1909-1920), the Oil Refinery Workers' Union (1918-1921) and an address book with clippings from the British Columbia Federation of Labour (CLC).

Fonds includes photograph album of Sylka Okovick, Man Media Chairman, 1982-1985.

The fonds primarily contains the organizational, administrative, and operational records of the V.I.P.O.W.C. and the Irish Solidarity Committee dating from 1977 to 1994. The fonds also includes 165 audio cassettes of Saoirse Eirleann. The fonds consists of records related to Vancouver Status of Women’s (VSW’s) administrative activities, projects and lobbying endeavours, production, marketing, and distribution of Kinesis, their activities related to their advocacy function, and research and reference resources. Although the nature of VSW’s activities has changed over time, the organization has consistently maintained a commitment to addressing social issues related to women, including gender discrimination, pay equity, familial violence, racism, and many more topics. VSW has addressed these issues through a variety of avenues, including publications, press releases, lobbying of governments, a television program, workshops, and services for individuals in Vancouver. The fonds reflects these diverse organizational interests and activities in six series: 1. Administrative and executive; 2. Projects and lobbying activities; 3. Research and reference resources; 4. Advocacy; 5. Kinesis; and 6. Kinesis photobank and production room materials. Additionally, the fonds contains alphabetized subject files dating predominantly 1971-1978. The Administrative and executive series contains records pertaining to operational and executive activities including finance, committee and volunteer administration, employee management, correspondence, and strategic planning for the organization. Record types include grant applications, correspondence, invoices and receipts, meeting minutes, training materials, and correspondence.

The Projects and lobbying activities series features the records of VSW’s numerous and diverse projects and lobbying activities. Record types include VSW briefs, press releases, submissions to government, research reports, publications, correspondence, indexes for back issues of Kinesis, and volunteer applications.

The Research and reference resources series comprises materials from third parties that VSW collected to support its research projects and the needs of its visitors. The series also contains VSW briefs, press releases, and reports inter-filed with research materials. Record types include briefs and reports from other organizations, newspaper and magazine clippings, VSW correspondence, grey literature, copies of academic journals, and cassette tapes in honour of International Women’s Day.

The Advocacy series features records related to VSW lobbying and advocacy activities. These activities primarily included organizing and participating in committees and task forces set up by all levels of government, lobbying, and preparing briefs on legislative documents and materials. Record types include: correspondence with the Ministry of Justice and different coalitions such as BC Coalition of Women Centres and the 52% Coalition; meeting agendas and minutes; information sheets and brochures; event invitations; and other materials arising from VSW’s lobbying and advocacy work.

The Kinesis series includes records related to production, publication, marketing, and distribution of Kinesis, Vancouver Status of Women’ most significant publication in BC. Record types include design sketches and proofs, advertising, readers’ correspondences and surveys, volunteer training manuals, staff self-evaluations, and monthly activity reports.

The Kinesis photobank and production room materials series contains materials from the production room of Kinesis. These materials predominantly reflect the production cycle of the magazine and its records organization system for photographic and graphic materials that were used in or collected for future use in the magazine. Records include photographs, negatives, contact sheets, ephemera, and administrative records.

The fonds consists of minutes, correspondence, financial records and printed material from various Vancouver-based organizations (including the Vancouver Vietnam Day Committee and the Vancouver Committee to End the War in Vietnam) opposed to the war in Vietnam (1966-1972).

Fonds reflects YWCA Metro Vancouver’s social and community services, programming, advocacy for women’s and gender issues, organizational administration, fundraising, publicity and communications management, and collaboration with affiliated service- and advocacy-based organizations.

The fonds consists of a number of typewritten manuscripts for short articles by Dr. Walkem as well as clippings of published articles. The fonds also includes Walkem's incomplete autobiography, a scrapbook of clippings relating to his experiences as a MLA and photographs.

The fonds consists of records generated and assembled by David Watmough related to his life and career as a novelist, short story writer, playwright, monodramatist and performer, poet, critic, broadcaster, journalist, and teacher. The fonds includes series of records arranged in twenty divisions, with the greatest portion related to writing and literary production: novels, short stories, plays and dramas, monodramas, poetry and songs, nonfiction books, diaries and journals, essays, collections and anthologies, recordings, reading scripts and performance files, radio and television broadcast scripts and project files, film scripts, lectures, addresses, and orations, journal articles, interviews, and reviews of books, exhibitions and theatre performances, as well as correspondence, finance and business files, subject files including published material about Watmough and copies of published material by him, and ephemera and miscellanea. The arrangement of records in files by the creator has been respected where such order exists. The fonds contains textual records, both manuscript and typewritten as well as computer generated, some printed, published material, an occasional sketch or drawing, several sound recordings of Watmough performing, a small number of electronic records, and a number of photoprints and slides kept with the original files where possible. Some monodramas have been retained in the original bindings provided for performance by the creator.

The fonds consists of biographical material, incoming (1926-1964) and outgoing (1945-1965) correspondence, a typescript and published edition of Webster's textbook Living Together in Canada and subject files. The fonds also includes pamphlets and clippings relating to various subjects.

The fonds consists of Weeks' writings which primarily relate to British Columbia history and historical figures. These include "Heroes of Victoria's Streets", "Outposts of Empire: Victoria B.C." and several about Captain Vancouver. The fonds also includes pictures of historical figures and of British Columbia scenery.

The fonds consists of records created or accumulated by Wescoast Energy Inc. its predecessor company Westcoast Transmission Company, Limited, and their subsidy companies. Records relate to the activities of these companies and the gas and energy industry in British Columbia and North America, and have been arranged into the following eleven series: legal and financial records (1950-1996); record books and minute books (1949-1980); subject files (1949-2000); corporate publications (1950-2002); publications relating to Westcoast Energy Inc. and its subsidiary companies (1957-2002); books, articles and other publications relating to the energy industry in British Columbia and North America (1897-1996); executive speeches and addresses (1957-1997); photographs and slides (1950s-1994); video recordings (1978-1995); scrapbook (1957); and maps and plans (1945-1994).

The fonds consists of photographs of mines, mining activities, and mining personnel created and collected for use in the Western Miner and its predecessor publications, The Miner and the British Columbia Miner. Images include aerial views as well as ground level shots of mine sites, buildings, townsites, mining, milling, smelting and other mineral processing operations. The photographs include exteriors and interiors of mines and buildings, crews at work, and a collection of portraits of company executives, staff and Canadian politicians. Mining equipment is featured including excavators, diamond drills, continuous miners, loaders, shuttle cars, muckers, ore conveyors, and drilling rigs.

The fonds consists primarily of correspondence with accompanying newspaper clippings, diaries and photographs. Fonds includes school notes and correspondence of his daughter, lieutenant colonel June Whaun.

The fonds consists mainly of his personal manuscripts and his activities relating to his work as published by Harbour Publishing Company. Much of his incoming and outgoing correspondence as well as subject files relate to books he has published or is planning to do so in the future. Major writers and/or correspondents include Anne Cameron, Pat Lane, Margaret Laurence, and Tom Wayman. A publication log kept by Hubert Evans (1928-1967) is also included.
