The fonds consists of two series biographical information and Do-It-Yourself Chemistry / Home Chemistry. The former includes information about Hayward including articles, CV, copies of publications and a list of his patents. The second series consists of material relating to the development of the Do-It-Yourself Chemistry program. It includes copies of newspaper columns, list of schools visited, samples of thank you letters from students, DIYC publications, photographs showing Hayward with students in various classrooms, and cassette recordings of his CFMI radio show and other interviews.

Fonds includes 8 notebooks, 7 of which are manuscripts of lecture notes taken by the Doctor’s father, also named Jacob Edwin Brouse, while studying at McGill University between 1858 and 1961. The last item, an appointment book created in 1898, shows records of Brouse’s hospital patients after opening the Slocan Hospital.

Fonds consists of minutes of meetings, correspondence, reports, printed material, and publications pertaining to Watson's professional activities and affiliations. Fonds includes materials pertaining to the Engineering Science Leads Committee of the B.C. Agricultural Sciences Co-ordinating Committee (BCSCC) on which Watson sat for the period 1967-1978. Composed of representatives of the Provincial Ministry of Agriculture, Agriculture Canada, and the UBC Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, the Committee advised the Minister of Agriculture and allotted research funds for research projects within the province.

Fonds consists of reports, printed materials, publications, conference proceedings and programs, correspondence, minutes, memoranda, and contracts pertaining to MacPhee's personal and professional life. Fonds is arranged in seven series: Biographical Information, MacPhee Family Genealogy, General Scottish History, Books and Articles by MacPhee, Banff School of Advanced Management, and History of the Faculty of
Commerce and Business Administration series. The latter series includes materials relating to the history he prepared for the Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration in 1976.

The fonds consists of records which document Edgar Wickberg's research on Chinese land tenure systems and rural society, and the history of Chinese communities overseas. Materials include research notes, correspondence, computer printouts, newspaper and magazine clippings, photocopies of both archival documents and scholarly articles, and file cards and notes stored in file card boxes. The series are Land Tenure (divided into sub-series by region), Rural Localities in China, Chinese in Canada, Chinese in the United States, and File Cards.

The fonds consists of records relating to the teaching, research and supervision work of Edmond Granirer. The records in this fonds include published math articles, correspondence with colleagues and organizations, lecture notes and presentations on Algebra given around the world. There are also records of his early career in the US and student evaluations of his classes. Also in the fonds are newspaper clippings, reports, programs and photographs. The records have been divided into four series Career Records, Published Papers, Lectures and Conferences, and Correspondence.

The fonds consists of records from the Fraser River Model Project (1949-1962); the Vancouver Harbour and Burrard Inlet Model Project (1953-1956); materials generated in teaching and taking UBC engineering courses (1922-1972), academic materials generated outside of the UBC system, and miscellaneous engineering projects that Pretious participated in his time at UBC (1942-1977). The records have been separated into six different series. Reports and memoranda which were issued as a series have been arranged in series order, but other items were filed arbitrarily under the two projects and have been maintained this way.

The fonds consist of 15 incoming letters from Ethel Johns (1948-1950, 1961-1965), Director of Nursing Services and Education at Vancouver General Hospital, and the new nursing program at UBC. Under Johns' guidance, the five-year plan established the B.Sc. in Nursing. The fonds also include biographical information and records relating to Flanagan's various awards, including an honorary doctorate from McGill University (1977).

Fonds consists of nine pages of handwritten excerpts from Eileen Keel’s diary covering the school years 1938/39 and 1939/40, and one page of photocopied prints depicting the UBC campus during this period and Keel’s graduation.

The fonds consists of a photograph album received from graduating students of Glenmere High School, Slocan City, 1946. Fonds includes photographs and cards mounted in the album.

Fonds consists of Dr. Whittaker’s records as a member of the SSFC and MOST. It includes records of the meetings of various committees, councils, and panels in which Dr. Whittaker attended as well as records of various issues and topics related to SSFC and MOST activities. Fonds reflects E.M. Delafield's career and interests as a writer and lecturer in the early decades of the twentieth century. Some of the items in the fonds were also made or received by persons related to E.M. Delafield. Textual records in the fonds consist of letters related to Delafield's research and writing on the British author Charlotte Yonge and unpublished manuscripts, plays, short articles, book reviews, and lectures written by Delafield pertaining to her interests in Charlotte Yonge, women, religion, the lives of the British upper class, and other subjects. The fonds also includes clippings, obituary notices, photographs, and records related to the writings of Lorna Lewis. Fonds consists of seven series: Incoming letters; Manuscripts; Lecture notes; Newspaper clippings; Personal photographs; Records related to Lorna Lewis; and Outgoing letters.

The fonds consists of documentation regarding specific courses, accreditation, correspondence, surveys, interdepartmental memoranda, sample student work, and brochures. Most of the documentation originates from the office of Engineering Physics under the directorship of Prof. Edward Auld. Dr. Jon Nakame accumulated the CEAB Accreditation materials. In general, these documents reflect the Director of Engineering Physics' role and interests, and specifically Prof. Edward Auld. They underscore Engineering Physics' relationship to the Department of Physics and Astronomy and the Faculty of Applied Science.
The first series consists of files that were collected and organized chronologically by Engineering Physics. Subsequent series include documentation regarding specific courses within Engineering Physics and documentation relating to the accreditation of Engineering Physics by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board during the 1990s and 2000s. There are 350 prints and 260 negatives included in the Photographs series, most of which were taken in the 1990s.

Fonds documents several of Eva-Marie Kröller’s academic projects: her biography of British Columbia author George Bowering, Bright Circles of Colours (Talonbooks, 1992); essays on Roy Kiyooka and Emily Carr; her book Canadian Travellers in Europe, 1851-1900 (UBC Press, 1987); materials relating to her book Writing the Empire: The McIlwraiths, 1853-1948 (2021); an article entitled “Une femme bien en vue”: Adrienne Clarkson and the Media (2014); and an anthology of travel literature that she and historian Pierre Savard were planning, but which was not completed before Savard’s death in 1998 in addition to other various research materials. Also included are documents related to a workshop organized by SATE (Swiss Association of Teachers in English), and correspondence with Canadian authors. The materials consist of textual records (correspondence, notes, drafts, and readers’ reports), published materials, and a 3.5” computer floppy disk containing a digital manuscript of Bright Circles of Colours.

The fonds consists of the bound minutes of meetings of the Faculty held between 1915 and 1921. In addition, an oversize bound visitor registry (1959-1993) was acquired in 2020 and can be found in box 2.

The fonds documents the leadership role of the Office of the Dean (such as the Dean's Annual Report and Dean's Briefing Sessions) and the administrative role of the office (such as "Budget," "Employment," and "Reorganization"). The fonds also contains minutes and other documentation from the Joint Board of Teacher Education, 1963-1983, and the Tri-Ed Committee, from 1966-1982. Other documented activities include course development and syllabi; symposia, workshops and other special events; faculty research files; faculty committee files; documentation from various programs and departments that comprised the Faculty of Education (Undergraduate Studies, Elementary Education, etc.). The fonds of the Faculty of Medicine includes records which document the administrative and operational activities, actions and interests of the Faculty. Such records pertain to the establishment and organization of the Faculty; the development and actions of the Facultys governing bodies and committees; the planning, development and construction of various Faculty buildings such as the University Hospital, the I.R.C. Centre, the Basic Medical Sciences buildings and the Health Sciences Centre. These records also refer to the use of regional hospitals as clinical teaching hospitals and to relations between the Faculty and the University at large; as well as, with other university medical schools, governments, medical and related professions, associations and societies, businesses and hospitals. The records within this fonds also pertain to the Facultys receipt of gifts and donations, its departmental / divisional research endeavors and it applications for, and receipt of, awards for professional distinction. Types of material found in the Faculty of Medicine fonds include: correspondence, working papers, minutes, photographs, newspaper clippings, memorandum, agendas, studies, internal reports and reviews, applications, protocols and surveys. The fonds has been arranged into the following series: Historical Material; Faculty Governance; Committees; General Office Files; Dean of Medicine; and Photographs.

Series consists of correspondence records from the Whitham, Clements, and Zoellner families. Correspondence includes those that were received by various family members as well as those that were sent among family member. Series includes records such as letters, postcards, official documents, and ephemera. Some photos are pasted into pages of text and have not yet been separated. All photos, even those associated with correspondence files have been numbered as part of the family photographs series (12.2).

The collection consists of materials relating to the Committee on Continuing and Community Education activities in British Columbia (the Faris Committee), collected and maintained by Committee member Gordon Selman. It includes copies of briefs submitted to the Committee, correspondence, reports, and other documents relevant to the Committee's investigations. The collection is arranged in three series: briefs, letters, and miscellaneous.

The fonds consists of research materials gathered by Johnson for his biography of John Jessop (1971), records relating to teacher education in British Columbia (1946- 1970), correspondence concerning the establishment of UBC's Faculty of Education (1955-1956), and a collection of his speeches (1958-1965). In addition, the fonds includes a recording of a broadcast interview with Johnson relating to his study of the life of John Jessup.

The fonds consists of diaries, photographs, articles, speeches and reports, and miscellaneous material, all of which document Frank F. Wesbrook’s personal and professional activities. Also included are a collection of off-prints of scholarly articles relating to a variety of medical topics that Wesbrook collected or in some cases wrote.

The fonds consists of scrapbooks, clippings, photographs, correspondence, speeches, publications and awards that chronicle Reads career as a rower and, more particularly as a rowing coach.

Fonds consists of scrapbooks on football, baseball and golf clippings from newspapers and sports periodicals, some of Gnup's game strategies, his writings on sports philosophy, and a set of clippings of his column in The Courier, "Gnupermania." Fonds includes guest lists, correspondence, and other material relating to the annual Pigskin Party thrown by Gnup. Fonds also includes personal correspondence and professional correspondence concerning Gnup's responsibilities as coach of the UBC Thunderbirds. Fonds consists of 16 series: Clippings series, Student Term Papers series, Game Strategies series, Football Clinics series, Player Statistics series, Report Literature series, Notebooks series, Programs series, Personal series, Public Speaking Material series, Book on Canadian Football series, Physical Education Department series, Pigskin Party series, Training Camps and Rosters series, Athletic Associations series, Correspondence series and Photograph series.

Fonds consists of correspondence, minutes of meetings and numerous reports generated between 1956 and 1961. Also included are several research papers relating to the effects of hydro-electric dams on fish populations. Many of these reports were produced by the University of British Columbia faculty, including Edgar C. Black and William S. Hoar.

The fonds consist of scrapbooks of clippings, correspondence, photographs, and programs relating to the Players' Club's activities and the Frederic Wood Theatre's construction.

The fonds consists of biographical information about Clement, copies of speeches (1942-1955) and notes from his first lecture on agricultural economics given at Macdonald College in 1913. The fonds also includes reminiscences of F.F. Wesbrook, L.S. Klinck and early experiences at UBC.

The fonds consists of correspondence (1940-1984), articles and addresses by Soward (1926-1969), book reviews (1950-1965), collected articles and book reviews by others, and a collection of newspaper and magazine clippings. Also included are copies of a weekly column entitled "The Way of the World" that Soward wrote for the Vancouver Morning Star (1927-1929).

The fonds consists of correspondence, reports, and curriculum material relating to Cannon's role as an UNESCO advisor in science teaching at the British Solomons Training College in Honiara, British Solomon Islands Protectorate.

Fonds consists of correspondence, photographs, clippings, artifacts, publications, legal documents, notes, transcripts of lectures and broadcasts, examinations, certificates, and other miscellaneous items. Most of the material was created and collected by Sedgewick himself and a small amount was collected by friends including Robert apRoberts after Sedgewick's death.

The records of Gary Lauk and his Executive Assistants Eric Green and Albert Mellul, are described in this finding aid. They were created in the course of the operations of the Minister's Office during the New Democratic Party (NDP) administration of government. The majority of the material pertains to Lauk's term of office as the Minister of Economic Development (1973-75), Minister of Mines and Petroleum Resources (October - December, 1975), and as Education Critic (1976-1982). Some material predates Lauk's appointment and relates to his responsibilities as a MLA.

Much of the material given in the initial donation deals with the direction given to the Department of Economic Development in its activities of promoting the economic development and diversification of BC while much of the material in the subsequent donation deals with the Education sector in BC from the mid 1970s to the early 1980s. Other records deal with the Lauk's communications with the British Columbia Cabinet and with the NDP party of Canada. A smaller amount of material relates to Lauk's role as a member of the NDP Caucus and the MLA for Vancouver Centre and a few files are of a personal nature.

The records have been arranged into three series: MLA for the Governing Party; Executive assistant to Lauk; and MLA for the Official Opposition Party. Within the first series are subseries of government department and subject files, as well as outgoing correspondence and Printed reference material. In addition, a subseries titled General government files, has been created of the documents that accumulated unfiled, while Lauk was Minister of Mines and during the provincial election.

The Executive Assistant to Lauk series contains two subseries: Subject files and Outgoing correspondence.

The MLA for the Official Opposition Party series contains Lauk's records that he acquired and/or accumulated during the time period from 1976-1985. The series contains four subseries including Education Critic; Subject files; Correspondence; and General government files.

The records largely consist of typewritten documents, such as correspondence, memoranda, briefings, minutes and itineraries. The records also contain printed materials such as press kits, new releases, brochures, newsletters, and newsclippings. Also included are a substantial amount of published and unpublished studies, reports, and proposals produced by the Department of Economic Development or by the other government departments and non-governmental agencies. The non-textual materials include an album of colour photoprints of the BC government's delegation trip to Japan, which Lauk was a part of, as well as a number of loose colour and black and white photoprints.

The fonds also contains correspondence files of Leo Nimsick (1972-1973), Lauk's predecessor as Minister of Mines and Petroleum. Lauk acquired these papers when he was appointed Minister.

Fonds consists primarily of Parrott's criticism of D.E. Harker's history of St. George's School, Vancouver, entitled Saints. Parrott's notes and letters on the development of the school add a new dimension to the information found in the official history. Many letters contain correspondence to Anne Yandel, the former Head of Special Collections at UBC Library, and George Brandak, the Manuscripts Curator at the UBC Library. Also included in the fonds are documents related to Parrott’s status as a Canadian citizen.

Fonds consists primarily of the working files and other materials of Geoffrey Smedley, together with some personal records. The materials include notebooks, drawings, written notes, correspondence, photographs, biographical and professional information, exhibition catalogues and other published items, and reference materials, in both hardcopy and digital media. Fonds consists primarily of Spencer's incoming and outgoing professional correspondence (1925-1965). This correspondence provides significant information about Spencer's research at the University as well as the study of entomology in British Columbia. In addition, the fonds also includes copies of student examinations (1924-1955), recommendations (1936-1959) and printed material.

The fonds consists of notes, manuscripts, drafts, galleys, and correspondence relating to McWhirter's published and unpublished novels, short stories, poetry, and radio plays. It also includes biographical and autobiographical information, non-fiction manuscripts, book reviews, material regarding McWhirter's editorship of "Words from Inside", translation records, teaching material, records relating to his time as Head of the Creative Writing Department and other personal and professional correspondence.
