Minutes.

Series consists of meeting minutes related to the Consolidated Red Cedar Shingle Association of British Columbia committees. Material consists of ledger books with meeting minutes pasted inside, type and handwritten minutes.
Minutes are divided into three sub-series: Annual General Meetings, Annual General Meetings of Consolidated Shingles Mills of B.C., and Directors Meetings.

Bulletins.

Series consists of bulletins that discuss several topics include shares on British Columbia Red Cedar Shingle Export Association, meeting reminders for Board of Director meetings and BCLMA meetings, and general correspondence.

Annual General Meetings of Consolidated Shingles Mills of B.C.

Sub-series contains annual general meeting minutes for the Consolidated Shingle Mills Association of British Columbia a division of the CRCSABC. Material consists of ledger books documenting the associations’ decisions, including the founding of three standing committees and reports from the standing committees and other groups with an interest in lumber and forestry in the region. The ledger includes a list of registered directors and members.

Directors meetings.

Sub-series consist of Directors meetings minutes from the Consolidated Red Cedar and Shingle Association of British Columbia. Material contains four ledger books of meeting minutes documenting the committee’s decisions, and includes division reports, the organizations functions and activities, and daily business.

Annual General Meetings.

Sub-series contains General meeting minutes from the Consolidated Red Cedar and Shingle Association of British Columbia. Material consists of ledger books documenting the associations’ decisions, including the founding of three standing committees and reports from the standing committees and other groups with an interest in lumber and forestry in the region.

Trademark and Brands.

Series contains records relating to the Edgewood trademark owned by the Consolidated Red Cedar Shingle Association of British Columbia. Materials include correspondence with other forestry organization regarding the use of the Edgewood logo, correspondence with attorneys, the patent certificate for the registration of the trademark, request for re-registration of the trademark and examples of the proper use of the logo. Series consists of a brief to the Sloan Commission prepared by CRCSA on the past and present status of Red Cedar Shingle industry in British Columbia, a brief to the royal Commission of Enquiry into the Forest Recourses of British Columbia, a brief prepared for the United Kingdom on the exports of Western Red Cedar Shingle to the U.K, and briefs concerning merchandising techniques of shingles.

Sloan Commission.

Series contains records relating to the Sloan Commission. Material consists of memoranda and correspondence, summary of evidence presented at the enquiry, a brief submitted to the Commission by the Consolidated Red Cedar Shingle Association of British Columbia, and transcripts of the inquiry on forest resources.

Market Committee.

Sub-series contains records relating to the British Columbia Lumber Manufacturers Association’s Market Committee. Material consists of meeting minutes that discusses rail prices, export conditions, freight conditions, mining timber rates, decisions on base prices, and list prices of lumber.

Trade Extension committee.

Series contains meeting minutes from the Trade Extension Committee of the British Columbia Lumber Manufacturers Association. Material consists of plans to implement lumber trade representatives in various countries throughout the world to represent Canada’s interest. Records also include details of the committee’s finances and budget, and progress reports from individual members.
