Sub-series consist of Directors meetings minutes from the Consolidated Red Cedar and Shingle Association of British Columbia. Material contains four ledger books of meeting minutes documenting the committee’s decisions, and includes division reports, the organizations functions and activities, and daily business.

Sub-series contains General meeting minutes from the Consolidated Red Cedar and Shingle Association of British Columbia. Material consists of ledger books documenting the associations’ decisions, including the founding of three standing committees and reports from the standing committees and other groups with an interest in lumber and forestry in the region.

All drawings pertain to building projects completed at UBC, with only a couple of exceptions at the end of this section. Most of the drawings in this accession are working drawings, with some preliminary and perspective drawings appearing in the files. In addition, there are some working drawings for several unbuilt UBC projects. The same building sub-contractors were used consistently throughout TBP&P's corporate life: D.W. Thomson, Mechanical Engineering; Simpson & MacGregor, Electrical Engineering; O. Safir, Structural engineering. In the 1970s, this group became the "Partners" when the corporate title changed for the last time [see: Administrative History in the full file list]. Some projects between 1923 and 1974 were commissioned by the federal or provincial government rather than the university.

Subseries consists of drafts of letters and documents, notes, and supporting material regarding sealing claims. Most of the series is made up of lined notebooks. Draft documents include memorials to various Canadian government officials, a draft resolution, relevant data, descriptions, etc. The draft letters are addressed to many of the same Canadian government officials, representatives, and others found in the Correspondence series. Loose notes, drafts, newspaper clippings, and other ephemera are interleaved throughout the notebooks. In addition to newspaper clippings and ephemera, supporting materials include some incoming correspondence. Though the drafts in the notebooks are roughly in chronological order, some gaps occur. The contents of the subseries were received by the archivist in a leather briefcase.

This series contains over 20 books on Swedish culture, history, and emigration and immigration to North America. Some of the books are in English while the others are in Swedish. A book index is available.

Subseries consists of items related to A.M. Klein and Steinberg’s correspondence, research and publications about him. Materials include correspondence, notes, annotated photocopies of Klein’s works, drafts, and manuscripts, including materials on microfilm.

Subseries consists of correspondence to both Magnus Eliason and Guðmundur Eliason, Magnus Eliason’s journals, writings, collected ephemera, and photographs. Included in Magnus’ collection are two journals: the Icelandic Canadian, March 1946 and Tímarit Þjóðræknisfélags Íslendinga.

Subseries consists of photographs and an album relating to Upshall's career as a provincial board of health nurse and as a public health service nurse in Richmond.

This subseries contains newspaper clippings and issues, meeting minutes, and Seaholm's research notes about the Swedish Press, a newspaper based out of Vancouver, but published in Swedish. Subseries also contains microfilmed versions of issues of the Swedish Press (some under its Swedish title Svenska Pressen) from 1929 to 1956.

Sub-series consists of drawings and photographs for mockups and cover proofs of Pulp Press publications, oversize photographs for Pulp publications, and oversize mockups of a Press magazine Flush Times.

Sub-series contains records relating to the British Columbia Lumber Manufacturers Association’s Market Committee. Material consists of meeting minutes that discusses rail prices, export conditions, freight conditions, mining timber rates, decisions on base prices, and list prices of lumber.

Subseries consists of correspondence pertaining to certain topics (such as health, travel, anniversaries, and day-to-day events) or sent by specific individuals. This correspondence takes the form of letters, cards, personal notes, and postcards. Some of the senders include Hedy Lamarr, Marie Louise Wanamaker, John Martin Gilbert, Adolf Ludwig Mandl, and many other friends and acquaintances.

Series contains meeting minutes from the Trade Extension Committee of the British Columbia Lumber Manufacturers Association. Material consists of plans to implement lumber trade representatives in various countries throughout the world to represent Canada’s interest. Records also include details of the committee’s finances and budget, and progress reports from individual members.

Sub-series reflects a set of interviews conducted by Mary Bishop in the late 1970s relating to her long-term project of documenting the history of the birth control movement in Canada between 1920 and 1980. Bishop interviewed several individuals with lived experience connected to this history, including physicians; religious leaders; and women and couples who spoke about their experiences seeking reproductive healthcare. The interviews were funded by a grant from the Explorations Programme supplied by the Canada Council.

Records in this sub-series include interview transcripts; typed and handwritten notes; interview releases; accompanying documentation on the history of birth control and dissemination of information about family planning; and one photograph.

Sub-series consists of prints and slides of artists, paintings, Cheney’s work, and her friends.

Correspondence, press clippings, copies of Lowry’s writings and letters, research notes and some lecture notes. Includes some overhead projector slides, photocopied images and photographs.

Subseries contains original research/data, correspondence and annotated reference materials related to groups in the South Pacific, including the Solomon Islands, Fiji, and Papua New Guinea. It also includes some miscellaneous essays on other groups outside the area.

Sub-series consists of records from Burch’s school days and boyhood, from his early years at University of British Columbia, and from school reunions. The sub-series is divided into 3 files: Public schooling, Reunions, and Photographs. The Reunion file also contains several photographs. Among the textual records are school report cards from 1930 till 1936, a high school entrance certificate, university entrance examination certificates, a high school graduation certificate, and newsletter and correspondence regarding high school reunions. The photographs are reflective of Burch’s extra-curricular activities through boyhood and his teenaged years.

Sub-series consists of incoming and outgoing material, some of which was exchanged between Emily Carr and Nan Cheney, some of which was collected by Cheney.

Also included are several reproductions of artwork by Allan Brooks and Strom Gould, who were illustrating and painting birds before Lansdowne.

Subseries consists of correspondence pertaining to Hanne’s career as a fitness professional in both Europe and North America. This correspondence includes notes of appreciation from former clients, letters of recommendation, letters related to programming Hanne offered in various countries, and more. There are also several letters from professional associations she was a member of, such as the Association of Physiotherapists and Massage Practitioners and the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy.

Similar to the YWCA, the YMCA is a movement operating at three levels: local, national, and world. The YMCA was founded in England in 1844 as the Young Men’s Christian Organization, with the mission of “the spiritual condition of the young men engaged in houses of business, by the formation of Bible classes, family and social prayer meetings, mutual improvement societies, or any other spiritual agency” (“Sir George Williams - Founder of the YMCA”). The movement’s mission has changed regularly since 1844 and is currently “to empower young people and communities worldwide to build a just, sustainable, equitable and inclusive world, where every person can thrive in body, mind and spirit” (“Our Mission”). The YWCA and YMCA are independent movements with different missions. However, some local YMCAs and YWCAs have merged into YM-YWCAs or YMCA-YWCAs, belonging to and offering programs from both organizations. At all three levels of both movements, YMCAs and YWCAs often maintain connections to one another and collaborate with each other.

YWCA Metro Vancouver maintains a relationship with YMCA organizations including YMCA BC and YMCA Canada. This is accomplished via YWCA Metro Vancouver’s receipt of YMCA annual reports and publications.

Subseries documents YWCA Metro Vancouver’s programs, clubs, conferences, and workshops for special interest and social groups. The YWCA’s identified priorities have typically influenced the direction of its general programming. From the 1930s to 1960s, focus on leadership development for teenagers resulted in the high school YWCA club called Hi-Y or Y-Teen. This program reemerged as Soromundi between 1982 and 1991. A mentorship program began around 1990 to assist young women in enhancing their interpersonal skills and exploring career opportunities. The YWCA also developed and involved itself in programming including: several clubs at Pender Y engaging with the Chinatown community from 1940 to the 1970s; the Housewives Holiday, later called Take a Break, a program for home makers from the 1950s to 1970s; Single Mothers’ groups and the Annual Single Mothers’ Conference from the 1970s to 1990s; and the Mature Women’s Conference from 1987 to 1989.

Material in this subseries arises from Hi-Y and Y-Teen activities, About Town programs, the Mature Women’s Conference, and other programs, clubs, conferences, and workshops run by the YWCA.

Records consist of reports, programs, newsletters, brochures, photographs, and other material arising from planning, promoting, and running these programs.

Subseries documents meetings of the Board of Directors, the Management Team, and the Nomination Committee. Elected from and by YWCA Metro Vancouver Members, the Board of Directors is responsible for managing the affairs of the full organization, including policy- and priority-setting, planning, budget management, and evaluation of programs and services. The Management Team coordinates staff and volunteers organization-wide. The Nomination Committee is responsible for assisting with nomination appointments of the Board and for conducting elections at the Annual General Meeting.

Records consist of meeting minutes, reference material accumulated for these meetings, audiocassettes recording meetings, and other material arising from the business of these committees (e.g., memoranda, reports).
