Elmore had interest in a set of mining claims on Germanston Creek, known as the Enterprise Co., and sold and disposed of these for the good of his creditors. Includes notice from J.Lindsay, a chief constable, regarding Elmore’s estate, and copy of letter to W. Fitzgerald.
Indictment, by True Bill for Stabbing with Intent.
-Ah Sow is charged with Stabbing and Wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. Verdict, not guilty, prisoner discharged.
Precept to Registrar to Set Cause Down for hearing; (3) Extract from the Record Precept Book of the Police Court, Victoria; Record.
The Defendant falsely and maliciously and without reasonable cause charged the Plaintiff with stealing a saw from him, value of $1.50. The Defendant also assaulted the Plaintiff, gave him into custody of a policeman and caused him to be imprisoned in a police office. The Plaintiff was injured in his reputation and was prevented from attending to his business as a result of the Defendant's actions and has also incurred expenses in obtaining his release from the said imprisonment. The Plaintiff claims $5,000 damages from the Defendant.

-Regarding the payment of a road tax of $63 levied on the Defendant. Ash was not satisfied with the said order telling him to pay the tax and intended to appeal it before the Supreme Court. There is some confusion over the amount of time that he had to enter his appeal.
File consists of four documents: Bill of Complaint; Affidavit of H. Courtney; Order; Defendants Costs of Opposing the Injunction. Plaintiff had rented a house in Victoria belonging to the Defendant at a monthly rent of 4100. Plaintiff made an agreement with the Defendant to cover two months rent for repairs made to the house. Defendant denies this agreement after the repairs had been made and the Plaintiff is suing for damages.

Lays out conditions for emigrants who will be required to report himself or herself at some Port of Embarkation in England. Struggling with a depressed economy and in serious debt, and still not part of the Canadian Confederation, BC hoped to encourage massive numbers of English immigrants to swell the ranks of landowners and taxpayers. This was the first such BC Colonial scheme; others followed, none as effective as the Vietnam War. Rare, unrecorded except as a possible 1871 imprint, by Kaye Lamb in 1939 BCHQ.

Action is brought about by the Plaintiff to recover money owed to him be the Defendant and for a breach of contract between them regarding the purchase of cattle from Oregon. Plaintiff claims that he had settled his accounts with the Defendant which were recorded in a ledger of some sort and he asks that those records be admissible in his case. Judge rules that this action be discontinued.
