The fonds consists of handwritten notes, printed material and subject files made or created in the course of practial activities by the UTU, Local 422. In addition, the fonds consists of the records of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen (.27 m, 1942-1968), the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen (5.25 m, 1919-1969), the Vancouver Joint Council of Railway Unions (.55 m, 1971-1984), and the Vancouver Rail Task Force, (1 m, mainly 1977-1982).

The fonds consists of reports from the annual meetings of the Club, which include minutes, treasurer's reports, financial records and lists of book selections (1946-1984). The fonds also includes minutes of meetings of the Book Club and related material for the period 1946 to 1984.
The Uno Langmann Family Collection of B.C. Photographs, donated by Uno and Dianne Langmann and Uno Langmann Limited, consists of more than 20,000 rare and unique early photographs from the 1850s to the 1970s. It is considered the premiere private collection of early provincial photos, and an important illustrated history of early photographic methods. The photographs were taken by a wide range of photographers. Some well-known photographers represented in the collection include William Notman, Charles MacMunn, Frederick Dally, Charles Horetzky, Charles Gentile, Philip Timms, Yucho Chow, R. Maynard, and Leonard Frank.

The fonds consists of biographical material, correspondence, constitutions, lists, and financial records. It also contains printed material which includes manuscripts of poetry and prose, announcements and programmes for the Vagabond Club (1915-1921), as well as ephemera and photographs. Also included are sous-fonds relating to the Comrades Club and Charles Hill-Tout (1892-1944). Fonds includes material relating to club history created by Jackie Hooper.
The collection consists of several of Roderick Haig-Brown's manuscripts as well as editors' working papers and printers' proofs of a number of his articles and other publications. In addition, there are reviews of his writings and magazine articles about him as well as incoming and outgoing correspondence. The collection also includes correspondence, manuscripts, financial records, and subject and clippings files related to Valerie Haig-Brown's work as literary executor of the estate of her father and as author of Deep Currents, a biography of her parents.
The fonds consists of minute books of both regular meetings (1889-1956) and other Council Executive Board (1907-1920) of the Vancouver Trades and Labour Council (VTLC), affiliated union files and subject files of the Vancouver and District Labour Council (1956-1983). Fonds also includes minutes from the B.C. Federationist (1912-1922), the Vancouver Labour Temple Company (1909-1920), the Oil Refinery Workers' Union (1918-1921) and an address book with clippings from the British Columbia Federation of Labour (CLC).

The fonds consists of records created or received by the committees and individuals working for the Labour History Project under the Centennial Commission and Centennial Labour Committee. Fonds includes minutes, agendas, correspondence, publications, posters and other advertisements for events and meetings, reports, newspaper clippings, typescripts and manuscripts, including a graduate thesis on union history. All type- and manuscripts are related to the history of various unions in Canada and British Columbia. The fonds is divided between two series: Operational Records, and Manuscripts.
