An album of photographs believed to be in British Columbia, including landscape images as well as a number of portraits of Aboriginal peoples, many hand-coloured. [Barkerville & BC Photographs]
Album likely assembled at a later date by a dealer, however many are related to Barkerville, British Columbia, and a fire that destroyed the town in September of 1868. There are also other assorted images including portraits of prominent British Columbians such as James Douglas, and scenes in other small towns throughout the province. Most of the photographs are reproductions from images at the B.C. Provincial Archives and date from 1857 to 1930.
