File also contains financial and legal documents related to Griffin's work as solicitor and executor of estates, including bank deposit receipts; property tax assessments and receipts; promissory notes; powers of attorney assigned to Griffin by the St. Lawrence Inland Marine Assurance Company and the Bank of Montreal; bills of exchange and protests of bills of exchange; among other documents.

File consists of two copies of the same poem, "The Painter," by Thomas Gordon Hake. The poem has 9 stanzas and 72 lines. It was published in "New Symbols" (1876) and a volume of poetry collected by Alice Meynell in 1894. One copy of this poem is handwritten while the other is typed. Hake was a longtime friend and collaborator of Dante Gabriel Rossetti.

Irving charges that the Nesbitts will no longer allow them to visit with the boy and that his education and religious instruction are not being properly attended to by the Nesbitts. They are suing for full custody of the child.
