Caption taped to front: "Taken in front of newly built school house on dedication day March 3 1943. 2nd from left in front row is Mr. Tokutaro Tsuyuki, next is Mr. Yojiro Takimoto. 2nd from left in 2nd row is Mr Yukiro Yasuda, one of committee of three who looked after the affairs of settlement. Other members were Mr. Waichiro Kosaka and Mr. Shigeru Yasuura. There were 63 houses and shifting population of 300. High School graduates taught the elementary classes while high school students studied by correspondence. Settlement lasted from 1942 - 1951."
