General note
British Columbia Forest Products Limited was created as a logging and sawmilling company in 1946, and quickly established operations throughout the province. In the 1950s, the company expanded into the pulp and paper industry. In 1987 the company was purchased by Fletcher Challenge Limited of New Zealand, and the following year it was merged with Crown Forest Industries, also owned by Fletcher, resulting in the formation of a new company, Fletcher Challenge Canada Limited.
