Regarding Evans Bros.

The court had reason to believe that the Evans Bros. were concealing assets in their homes and in the premises of D. Clark & Company in Victoria. Judge Begbie ordered that all premises be searched and possessions seized, inventoried, and appraised.

Includes exhibit “B” regarding evidence, warrant of seizure, and copy of warrant of seizure.

Regarding Ernest Muller

Muller was indebted to J. Murray for goods bargained and sold to him by Murray. R. Woods and C.E. Pooley were appointed to act as official assignees in the matter. Includes appointment of official assignees, petition for adjudication of bankruptcy (with affidavits of J. Murray verifying the same), and affidavits of R. Bishop, and E. Muller.

Regarding Edward E. Wright

Wright was a prisoner for debt in the jail at Victoria. He states that he does not have the means of paying the fees and expenses related to a petition and asks the court to declare him a bankrupt, which it does. Includes adjudication, adjudication in forma pauperis, petition, affidavits of E. Wright, balance sheet, and statement of account.

Regarding Dietz

Affidavit of E. Johnson.

-E Johnson is the attorney for G.Dietz. Mr. George askew has applied to E. Johnson for a loan of $3500 upon a mortgage. Johnson believes that the proposed loan, to be advanced out of the moneys of G. Dietz, would be a safe and advantageous investment for him.

Regarding Daniel Cleal

Cleal was indebted to several creditors for various amounts; not many details of the case are provided. Includes note for allowance to Cleal; receipts to J. Copland, G. Keeling, and Drummond; list of debts proved and claimed; and statement of accounts.

Regarding A.W. Presley, Assigned

Russell. A.M. Nelson was entitled to act as trustee for Presley for the benefit of his creditors from which he was then removed and Carscaden was then appointed.

Regarding Augustus L. Brown

Brown is in jail for an unpaid balance owed on whiskey. While in jail, Brown petitioned the court to be declared bankrupt.

Regarding Alfred Robertson (1 of 2)

Regarding Abraham Blackman

Blackman was indebted to J.R. Stewart as well as to other parties. Raymur v. McDowell

Raymur v. Burrell

Rawling v. Eickhoff

File consists of four documents: petition to appoint; affidavit of R. Rawling; affidavit of R. Hett; record. Case regards Plaintiff charing $1,000 for damages for slander in that the Defendant falsely and maliciously spoke and published words stating that the Plaintiff had stoled a pair of trousers from the Defendant. Rasmusen alias Jackson v. Wright

File consists of five documents: Affidavits of Rasmusen; Order; Evidence of Sparks;and Evidence of Rallet. Action is brought to recover the sum of $500 as damages for the alleged wrongful acts of the Defendant towards the Plaintiff. Proceedings being delayed by material witness Sparks who is about to leave the jurisdiction of the court.

Raper v. Richardson
