C.I.10 certificate issued to a Chinese person wishing to enter the United State as evidence of their membership to an exempt class. The U.S. had its own Chinese Exclusion Act (An act to execute certain treaty stipulations related to Chinese) in force from 1882 to 1943, prohibiting entry of Chinese labourers. The C.I.10 certificate was issued by the Government of Canada in compliance with its Section 6.
