Subseries consists of court documents relating to civil cases in British Columbia between 1864 and 1903. The cases comprise a variety of document types, including: judge’s orders; affidavits; writs of summons; correspondence; bills of costs; jury lists; judgments; notices; statements of account; motions; bonds; speakers’ certificates; indentures; agreements; receipts of sale; complaints; notices of intention; mortgages; requests; wills; and subpoenas. As a whole, they are indicative of the development of civil and criminal law in the region at the time, closely reflecting British standards and precedence. Differences did develop, however, as circumstances required.

It is important to note that the time period represented in these cases includes years before and after the colonies were converged on August 6th, 1866. Before the unification, the Colony of Vancouver Island and the Colony of British Columbia were separate entities in which civil suits at the local level were a vital part of the decentralized colonial government. Initially, the mainland was governed from New Westminster, but once they were merged into the new Colony of British Columbia, governance took place in Victoria on Vancouver Island.

Subseries consists of files related to speaking engagements and speeches given or planned by Thomas Berger from 1977 to 1984, for audiences in Canada, New Zealand, Australia and the United States, on a wide variety of themes including the environment, native rights, northern development, and Canadian culture, among others.

Sub-series consists of Personal [Personnel] files of individual employees. The files consist of copies of memorandums received by the union that relate to issues concerning Imperial Oil Ltd. and individual union members. These issues include absenteeism, performance interviews, and the wearing of beards.

Sub-series consists of miscellaneous office-related files, some of which relate to events that occurred in one year only. Of particular interest is a file from 1979 which contains detailed information, programs, hand-written letters and cards, etc . relating to the 30th Anniversary Dinner and Dance. Also, there is a file from 1980 file pertaining to the change of the union from OCAW to ECWU, that includes the letter from the Labour Relations Board approving the change.

This subseries contains records of the incoming, outgoing, and internal correspondences of the Vancouver Women in Focus Society. Incoming correspondences came from a number of places, including other feminist, film, and/or art organizations in Vancouver, Canada, and internationally. Incoming correspondences include: tape and catalogue requests; letters from other organizations; letters from artists; invitations to participate in events or special projects; bulletins from organizations that Women in Focus was a member of; and letters of support.

Women in Focus also often kept copies of the mail they sent out, including: letters to politicians and government branches; WIF press releases about upcoming projects and events; letters to members about the status of the society; and responses to incoming mail. Women in Focus was also involved in lobbying efforts relating to issues such as censorship and representations of women in pornography. These lobbying efforts frequently resulted in letter campaigns which are included in the Correspondence series.

Internal correspondences pertain mostly to the status of Women in Focus, such as firing and hiring or changes to the Board of Directors and other committees. There are further correspondences throughout the fonds as they relate to different functions.

Sub-series consists of the postscript to Doyle's "Rise and Decline of the Pacific Salmon Fisheries," which contains an outline of his involvement in the fisheries. Also included are biographical sketches, written by Doyle, of Marshall Martin English, Sir Richard McBride, Woo Shou, and Tascha Machida, all men he knew while in business in British Columbia.

Sub-series reflects Mary Bishop’s involvement with the International Planned Parenthood Foundation. Bishop was appointed to a Laws and Policy Panel by the Western Hemisphere Board of the International Planned Parenthood, and served as a representative in at least five international conferences between 1976–1984.

Records in this sub-series include reports, policy documents, and other grey literature on family planning topics; newsletters; draft writing and speeches; correspondence; and newspaper clippings.

Subseries documents YWCA Metro Vancouver’s communication and promotion of its organizational image, particular services and programs, and products for sale. Activities represented include communications with members and the broader community, promotion and advertisement of particular services and programs, and marketing ventures.

Records consist of newsletters, annual reports, media coverage clippings, brochures, audiocassettes, videocassettes, photographs, and other material arising from the planning, dissemination, and evaluation of YWCA Metro Vancouver’s communications and products.

YWCA Metro Vancouver has interacted with and/or been a member agency of several non-profit community service organizations located in British Columbia, including the Community Chest and Councils of Greater Vancouver, United Way BC, and the United Community Services Co-op. YWCA Metro Vancouver maintains these relationships through participation in the aforementioned organizations’ general meetings and commissions, fundraising campaigns, and budget negotiations.

Records consist of reports, meeting minutes, memoranda, awards, and other records arising from YWCA Metro Vancouver’s interactions with and participation in these agencies’ business.

Subseries contains genealogical records of Keith Hoff, a photo of Hoff, and transcriptions of oral histories made by him and his relatives. The subseries also includes a passenger list of the S.S. St. Patrick of the Montreal Ocean Steam-Ship Company on September 23, 1874.

The subseries contains the original finding aid and collection information made by the Icelandic Archives of British Columbia for the Dora Hatton collection. The subseries also contains a manuscript written by Hatton’s father, Halldor Eriksson about his life and participation in different Icelandic communities in Canada. Additionally, the subseries contains a large series of family photographs and a scrapbook of the Eriksson and Hatton families.

The sub-series consists of textual records related to William McLennan’s work as a writer from the 1880s-1903. The series includes full and partial drafts of published and unpublished articles, short stories, novels, and non-fiction works; research and reference materials; incoming correspondence; and other materials. Writings are primarily about Montreal, including its history, physical environment, and historical figures. Historical figures treated include Raphael-Lambert Closse, Bénigne Basset, François Dollier de Casson, George Hardy, Pehr Kalm, Medar Jalot, Louis Juchereau de Saint-Denis, Richard Hamilton, Louis de Montéléon, Marie-Anne-Josette L’Estringant de Saint-Martin, Jean-Baptiste Migeon de Branssat, Daniel Greysolon Dulhut, Benedict XIII, Octave Crémazie, James Johnstone, and John McDonell. Research and reference materials include notes from historical sources, character sketches and timelines, and copies of archival documents, as well as original historical documents. Among the historical documents, the series includes a copy of Daniel Greysolon Dulhut's will and testament dated 1710 and signed by Dulhut. Correspondence relates to the writing, research, and publication of McLennan’s works. Notable correspondents include Jean Newton McIlwraith, co-author of "The Span o’ Life: A Tale of Louisbourg and Quebec," historian Joseph-Edmond Roy, archivist Douglas Brymner, journalist and historian Ernest Myrand, and John S. McLennan, among others.

Subseries contains song information collected by Thomas. Material includes song lyrics, music sheets, photographs, and articles about individual songs. Subseries is arranged alphabetically according to song title.

The Okanagan Syilx People have lived in the lands stewarded by the Penticton Indian Band since time immemorial, well before the onset of European settlement in the region. Today the Band is a member of the Okanagan Nation Alliance. Subseries consists primarily of photographs and associated interpretive notes, captions, and other materials.

Series consists of photographs taken by, or collected by, Sharron J. Simpson. Subjects documented include sawmill operations, 1999 reunion of former S.M.S. Ltd. employees, and the Okanagan fruit industry, as well as deliberate photographs taken preserving images of S.M.S. memorabilia.

Biographical sketch
Lillian Estabrooks (née Gibson), occasionally known as Bill or Billy Gibson, or Billy Estabrooks (b. 1902-08-01 in Almada, SK, d. 2003-08-17 in Penticton, BC) grew up in Keremeos. She and husband Richard (Dick) Estabrooks had three children. In 1981 under the pen name Bill Gibson she collaborated with Doug Cox to publish Under The K: Memories of Growing Up in Keremeos. Lillian Estabrooks was also a regular contributor to the Okanagan Historical Society annual reports.

Scope and content
Subseries consists of materials with provenance attributed to Lillian Estabrooks. Subseries is predominantly composed of photographs taken, collected, or otherwise attributed to Lillian Estabrooks, primarily during the years 1913-1920. Subseries also includes collected manuscripts, family trees, and notes, and one interview by Doug Cox with “Billy Estabrooks.”

Biographical sketch
Frank Hunter (b. 1909, d. ?) was born in Garneil, Montana, and immigrated with his parents to Saskatchewan as an infant. As a young man he ventured into the Peace River country of northern British Columbia. He married his wife, Doreen Hunter, in 1951 in Baldonnel, BC. They had two children.
Frank Hunter worked as a farmer upon his arrival in the Peace, and later on as a railroad surveyor and served as a school trustee during the 1950s.

Scope and content
Subseries consists of Hunter family photographs captured from about 1927 through the 1940s, as well as supporting textual reference materials. Photographs were taken by a Kodak Brownie box camera. Photographs depict images of landscapes, infrastructure (bridges and railroads), agriculture, rodeo, and pioneer family life in the Peace River region of British Columbia. Also includes a small subset of 35mm negative strips and 15 x 13 cm photographic prints dated to 1992, taken by Sandy Baker, and documenting the same geographical area.

Collection consists of professional photographs captured by George Albert Meeres. Geographies documented centre on the Okanagan, Shuswap, and Thompson regions with predominant coverage of Vernon, BC. A suite of photographs within the subseries provides coverage of the Armstrong Fall Fair, later termed the Interior Provincial Exhibition (IPE) during the 1940s and early 1950s. Includes a series of photos marked with association of "S.J. Ladyman" (Vernon, B.C.)

Subseries comprises the deliberate collecting activity of Ed Villiers and provides documentation of approximately one century of Savona history, which is today west of Kamloops on the shore of Kamloops Lake where the Thompson River has its egress. Originally, Savona was situated on the north shore of Kamloops Lake and represented the terminus of the stage coach line from Cache Creek on the Cariboo Wagon Road. It was also the site of a lake steamboat harbor which carried goods and passengers toward the Shuswap. As rail service was developed on the south shore of Kamloops lake, the decision was made to relocate the town in the 1880s- the relocation was executed by mechanism of pulling structures across the frozen lake during the winter.
Subseries features in large part copied tear sheets of other historical sources, as well as original manuscripts prepared by Ed Villiers for the Savona Community Heritage Committee. Other records include census documents, town directories and other documentation.

Records in this subseries relate to the time when Kujundzic's served as the head of the Arts Department at Pennylvania State University's Fayette Campus from 1968 until 1982. It includes teaching materials, interdepartmental correspondence, applications and notices, and records relating to art projects undertaken at the University.

Records in this subseries include materials relating to Kujundzic's professional roles with art organizations and societies, including: the Sculptor's Society of British Columbia and the Sculptor's Society of Canada, Federation Internationale de la medaille (FIDEM), the Washington Potters Association (WPA), the Central Washington Artists Association, the Allied Arts Council of Allied Arts Association, the Pioneer Crafts Council, North West Designer’s Craftsmen (NWDC), and Fine Arts Connection.

Also included are records relating to his service on the editorial board of “Earth & You” publication, as a member and coordinator of the IAC, and as president of the Okanagan Contemporary Artists.

Subseries contains maps, reports, and informational packages on various tree farm license projects carried out by Western Forest Products and its predecessors. The subseries is arranged by project.

Subseries consists of drafts of letters and documents, notes, and supporting material regarding sealing claims. Most of the series is made up of lined notebooks. Draft documents include memorials to various Canadian government officials, a draft resolution, relevant data, descriptions, etc. The draft letters are addressed to many of the same Canadian government officials, representatives, and others found in the Correspondence series. Loose notes, drafts, newspaper clippings, and other ephemera are interleaved throughout the notebooks. In addition to newspaper clippings and ephemera, supporting materials include some incoming correspondence. Though the drafts in the notebooks are roughly in chronological order, some gaps occur. The contents of the subseries were received by the archivist in a leather briefcase.
