Citizenship Judge subseries

Subseries consists of reference materials, research and reports, citizenship programs, correspondence, citizenship promotional material, and meeting minutes and agenda from H. Peter Oberlander’s time as a Citizenship Court Judge.

Campaign and Promotions subseries

This subseries consists of letters and correspondence with various governments and organizations in pursuit of funding and support for the Kaon Factory. It also contains correspondence in favour of the accelerator, pamphlets and community outreach records, news clippings and other materials produced in the course of trying to promote, fund, and actualize the accelerator.

A.M. Klein subseries

Subseries consists of items related to A.M. Klein and Steinberg’s correspondence, research and publications about him. Materials include correspondence, notes, annotated photocopies of Klein’s works, drafts, and manuscripts, including materials on microfilm.

Family Reconstitutions Project subseries

Subseries consists of records related to the Family Reconstitutions Project, including censuses, maps, tax assessment rolls, and research notes. The Project was a series of family reconstitution studies for the cities of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia and Perth, Ontario, in the 18th and 19th centuries. Ward pursued a professional and personal interest in this project, but it did not reach the publication stage.

Len Bawtree SoCred constituency

Subseries consists of constituency membership lists from around the Okanagan/Shuswap for the Social Credit Party, a letter, a report, a pamphlet, a statement of votes and a receipt book.

Len Bawtree general files

Subseries consists of bibliographic information on Bawtree, headshots, photographs depicting Bawtree’s time in government and his campaigns as well as pins, a cassette tape, letters, memorandums and speeches.

SSCA administration files

Subseries consists of records of SSCA financial management, human resources management, document control, and general administration.

SSCA correspondence files

Subseries consists of correspondence received by the SSCA from individuals, other government bodies, and organizations. Areas of concern include land access and use as well as agricultural production of dairy, meat, poultry, and produce. See also: SSCA issues (OSC ARC 18.2-04) which covers response to controversy, which may have been initiated by correspondence.

Periodicals

Subseries was collected between the early 1970s and 2014, and contains more than 250 titles, which mostly relate to the arts or contain references or writings related to Anna Banana or her friends and colleagues, as well as long running mail art or “network” publications. Some periodicals were collected for the course of the publication’s entire lifespan, and others were collected for a specific issue’s relevance to Annas work or to the mail art network.

Subseries files are predominantly magazines, journals, regularly published zines, and newsletters. Publications of the same title are filed together.

Subject files

Sub-series reflects a set of subject files maintained by Mary Bishop on a wide range of topics related to the social, political, and economic dimensions of family planning, birth control, and population growth. The files cover a broad spectrum of these subjects, including families and family planning (adoption, artificial insemination, birth control methods, sex education); population growth and planning (Zero Population Growth, non-governmental organizations); and social issues (child and spousal abuse, aging, unemployment, poverty). A small number of subject files on other topics is also present.

Records contained within the sub-series are mostly newspaper and clippings, and reproductions of articles; also contained within are government publications, pamphlets; and some correspondence.

Sub-series reflects Mary Bishop’s interest in and research about population growth and change, with a particular focus on the Canadian context.

Records contained in this sub-series include published grey literature on topics related to Canadian population, including immigration; population policy; and population statistics and projections.

Subsubseries consists of six laser prints, five with a text describing the content. Subjects include “A Blood Transfusion”; “No. 22 Canadian General Hospital”; “Landing in Normandy: Nursing Sisters of No. 10 Canadian General Hospital”; “Members of the Field Surgical Unit —Lt. (N/S) Stephen (Rt.) and Lt (N/S) Hackland; “Mary C. Young and A. Kemp, Lt (N/S) of 12 Canadian General Hospital—in “full marching order”.

Audiotape Cassettes

Subseries consists of audio cassettes containing discussions, interviews and lectures relating to nursing topics. These materials are not strongly related to any subfonds so are arranged under this subseries.

Directors of Nursing of Lower Mainland Hospitals

Beginning in 1964 Directors of Nursing from the Lower Mainland Hospitals met four times a year to discuss common concerns. Mrs. Lillies was key in the early organization. “Topics discussed at meetings included evaluation of personnel, staff orientation, role and licensing of practical nurses, education of clinical nurse specialists and principles and methods of nursing research”.

Subseries consists of one file of minutes of three meetings from 1964-1967 and other material, including a history of the organization from 1964 to 1979.

Janis Bowley

Subseries documents the curator files of Janis Bowley, Director/Curator of the Or Gallery from January 1994 to April 1996.
