The fonds consists of material relating to the foundation and early development of the Department of Fine Arts and other university-related committees and activities in which Binning participated, including the Fine Arts Committee, the Festival of Contemporary Arts, and the development of Nitobe Gardens. It consists of the following series: Biographical Material (1949-1976); Correspondence (1947-1972); Lectures, Articles and "Outside Work" (1948-1968); Committees (1947-1966); Fine Arts Program (1954-1964); Festival of the Contemporary Arts (1961-1971); Subject Files (1946-1958); and Teaching Materials (1949-1971).
The fonds consists of an album created by former UBC student Arthur Evan Boss. It contains over 560 small black and white photographs, of which approximately the first half relate to UBC and taken between 1917 and 1924. The 232 UBC images include many views of students and student life at the original Fairview campus. As well as posed individual shots of students, there are many photographs of various student activities, including the annual class picnic. Although there is limited duplication of images already in the Archives, the photographs are, for the most part, unique, and a large majority of them have captions with enough information for identifying individuals. Images in the second half of the album lack detailed description and do not appear to relate to UBC.
Fonds consists of both office and personal records that span much of Smith's long career with the U.B.C. Library, and includes correspondence, reports, minutes, notes, course materials, publications, and newspaper clippings. Fonds consists of materials that document the personal and professional activities of Abraham Rogatnick and includes handwritten notes and notebooks on historical and architectural subjects, index cards, typewritten speeches, writings, correspondence, and photographs. There are four series: Notes and Architectural Sketches, Photographs, Notebooks and Binders, and Personal Materials and Writing.
