Photographs series

Series consists of photographs of China, scenery and mining in B.C., and miscellaneous portraits.

Selected photographs have been digitized and included in UBC Archives’ Historical Photograph Database UBC 22.1.

Photocopied Research Material series

Series consists of photocopies of original archival documents, used by Dr. Prang in her research and class instruction, and relating to Clifford Sifton, George Foster, Robert Borden, R.B. Bennett, W.S. Fielding, T.A. Crerar, A.K. Cameron and Charles A. Dunning. The dates provided in the file list are those of the original documents.

Miscellaneous Personal Materials series

Series consists of class notes, lecture notes, field books, correspondence, printed material, essays, applications, publications, book reviews, and "Letters to the Editor" generated by Haddock as independent research material, as an undergraduate student, and during his career at the University of Washington. The series contains three subseries: Class Notes, University of Washington, and Research Material subseries.

Course-Related Records series

The series consists of class lists, student grades, exams, and course descriptions about Haddock's career at UBC. Series also includes materials about a Resource Management course taught by Haddock at Simon Fraser University in 1982.

Speakers Bureau series

Series consists of confirmations for Haddock's numerous speaking engagements conducted under the auspices of the UBC Speakers Bureau, a central "clearing house" for the multiple requests received by the university for speakers. Information includes the name of the group, age range of its members, numbers expected, date, the title of talk, etc. Series also includes Annual Reports and a Catalogue of Topics.

Speeches series

Blythe Eagles saw as one of the university educator's primary goals the dissemination of information beyond the strict confines of the campus. This fact is made clear in the long speeches he delivered before various groups. Series consists of handwritten notes and typed copies of Eagles' speeches. The title of the speech or the group for whom it was written has been indicated. Series contains two subseries: General and Agricultural Undergraduate Society subseries. Series is arranged chronologically.

Department / Faculty Records series

Series consists of minutes of meetings, speeches, printed materials, publications, and curriculum materials about the Department of Forestry. Series also includes employment data about Forestry graduates (1955-1963).

Biographical/Personal Material series

Series consists of C.V's, biographical notes, clippings and articles about M.Y. Williams, miscellaneous financial records, and early educational records.

Family History series

Series consists of extensive research notes, draft manuscripts and source materials used by Williams in conducting family history research. Copies of "The Bowerman Family, 1379 to the Present: English, American, Canadian" [CS 71 B69 W4] and "The Samuel Williams, Jemima Platt Family" [CS 90 W54] are available in Special Collections as well as in the fonds. Series also includes three postcard albums collected by M.Y. Williams' mother, Carrie Williams and numerous photographs.

Miscellaneous Subjects series

Series consists of correspondence, minutes, printed material, programs, reports, publications, and lecture and course notes about the Geological Society of America, the Royal Society of Canada, Museums in Vancouver, and the Canadian Department of Mines Geological Survey.

Photographs series

Photos in this series consist of photographs of M.Y. Williams' family. Photographs have been assigned series UBC 49.1, and 49.1/1 to 49.1/147 contain both prints and small prints of the Wiliams family. In this series are photos by WL Uglow taken in 1922; amongst Uglow's photographs, there are images of geological features, campsites, prospecting, logging, and BC towns such as Bakerville, Nookta village and the Tofino "life-saving station." Photos of people include CS Evans, Anthony Watson and C.O. Swanson. There is also a photo taken in Japan of Professor W.J. Head of Wisconsin. These photos can be found from 49.1/148 to 49.1/249. A group photo dated 1947 features Okalitch, Gunning, Swanson, Williams, Warren and Weir (49.1/251). There are also wildlife photos courtesy of the Canadian National Railway and photos of fossils and diatoms. The photo of dinosaur bones in UBC's Department of Geology is dated 1950. These photos are in boxes 52 (1-127) & 53 (128-269).

Personal Material series

Series consists of diaries, offprints, notes, financial materials, notebooks, examinations, certificates, essays, and printed material about Sage's personal life, including his student years. Biographical notes on Nelda Sage, Enoch Sage, and Henry T. Gerrans. Series contains four subseries: Biographical Material, Diaries, Financial Records, and Student Records subseries.

Addresses and Writings series

Series consists of the text of addresses, lecture and course notes, manuscripts, typescripts, essays, publications, book reviews, and a nearprint written by Walter N. Sage. Series contains six subseries: Addresses, Course/Lecture Notes, Manuscripts, Typescripts, Notes, and Publications subseries.

Subject Files series

Series consists of radio addresses, speeches, correspondence, minutes of meetings, and reports about Sage's interest in B.C. history. Includes personal names files that contain research notes, correspondence, and published or printed material about various individuals. It also includes property records about sites in Vancouver and Point Roberts. Series is divided into two subseries: Miscellaneous Subjects and Personal Names subseries.

Course Materials series

Series consists of course materials in Anthropology and Sociology and other UBC courses like Asian Studies and Curatorial Studies; also includes courses handled or developed outside of UBC.

Program Review series

Series consists of correspondence, reports, notes and schedules about Ames' involvement in program reviews for various museum studies programs, including the McCord Museum.

Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute series

Series consists of minutes of meetings of the Board of Directors and various committees, correspondence, financial statements, briefs, programmes, reports, fellowship applications, printed materials, and photographs about Ames' role as President of the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute, as well as the activities of the Institute in general.

Biographical series

Series consists of copies of curriculum vitae (1961-2001), miscellaneous citations (1982-2000) and annual reports (1963-1999).

Horticulture - Systematic Pomology series

The series consists of correspondence, course materials including written notes, and published materials (including off-print articles, clippings, and pamphlets). The records concern the growing of apples, pears, and related fruits.

UBC series

The series consists of correspondence, reports, minutes, published materials, and photographs. The records deal primarily with the areas of University administration in which Barss was involved, including the Senate, the Inter-Fraternity Council, the Department of University Extension, the building of Brock Hall, and campus development and maintenance. Also included are some administrative records of the Department of Horticulture.

The photographs are described and stored separately.

Playschool Series

Series consists of legal documents, financial papers, notes and a diary related to Borden's home playschool.

Child Study Centre Series

Series consists of background material, correspondence, minutes, manuscripts and printed materials related to the UBC Child Study Centre.

Biographical series

Series consists of unpublished and pre-published material that outlines Bourne's life and involvement in the Faculty of Law at UBC.

Personal Correspondence series

Series consists of Bourne's correspondence concerning legal, academic and personal matters. The series' arrangement reflects Bourne's system of dividing the correspondence by subject and then arranging the material with the most recent documents at the front of each file.

University of British Columbia series

Series consists of correspondence, reports, minutes, clippings, and published materials. It is arranged in three sub-series, based on the issues covered by the records: Faculty Association, International House, and Faculty of Law.

International Law Association series

Series consists of correspondence, reports, minutes, and draft articles documenting Bourne's involvement in the International Law Association and his interest in the issues the Association addressed. The arrangement of the files reflects Bourne's filing system.

Canadian Yearbook of International Law series

Series consists of records documenting Bourne's duties and activities as editor of the Canadian Yearbook of International Law, including manuscripts, correspondence, grant documentation, Editorial Board records and minutes, and published materials. The records are arranged in two sub-series: Manuscripts and Correspondence.

Canada Council series

Series consists of correspondence and grant documentation regarding Canada Council's support of the Canadian Yearbook of International Law.

Subject Files series

Series consists of correspondence, reports, notes, and published materials regarding subjects and organizations. The series reflects Bourne's involvement with many levels of law, with particular emphasis on academia and provincial, national, and international law. In addition, the series maintains Bourne's system of filing according to the subject.

Speeches series

Series consists of drafts and copies of speeches prepared by Boving and presented to various academic and community groups. The drafts are titled and page numbers marked, and in most cases, the occasion and date of the address are noted, arranged in chronological order. Undated speeches are arranged separately.

Memorabilia series

Series consists of various degrees, diplomas and certificates awarded to L.S. Klinck. Also included are photographs of Klinck with other individuals and images associated with Macdonald College.

Elizabeth Klinck series

Series consists of material donated by Elizabeth Klinck. Most of it relates to L.S. Klinck's funeral and tributes after his death. There is also correspondence (1926, 1942-1944, 1959), musical programmes (1921-1924), and undated photographs.

George Vancouver Research Material series

Series consists of materials used by Lamb in the preparation of his edited work on the voyages of George Vancouver (A voyage of discovery to the North Pacific Ocean and round the world, 1791-1795), published by the Hakluyt Society in 1984. It includes copied textual records (photocopies, microfilms, and transcriptions) and published charts and photocopies of historical maps. Maps are fully described in File List 2 in the finding aid.

Canadian Hydrographic Charts series

Series consists of hydrographic charts compiled by the Canadian Hydrographic Service from 1956 to 1970. They are in various scales and dimensions and are arranged in numerical sequence.

Manuscripts series

Series consists of original and edited typescript manuscripts and associated material appearing in Canadian Literature. Series is arranged chronologically, with each issue divided into the various sections of the publication.
