[Oral Histories]

Series consists of oral histories dating from 1987 to 2013. Oral histories are arranged alphabetically by the subject’s last name. Many exist in multiple formats or have multiple cassettes and/or CDs. If these are sequential, i.e., an interview that takes more than one tape, the first is given a prime number (OH3) and subsequent tapes identified as (OH3a, OH3b, etc.) Wherever it is known, they are identified as copies or originals. Interview numbers, which are based on the chronology of the interviewing, are also indicated.

A number of the oral histories were not done by the original committee. Transcripts of a number of oral histories, mostly from interviews with Beth McCann, are in the School of Nursing subfonds. Some individuals were interviewed more than once. Each interview is numbered separately. Audiocassettes of enduring interest and of sufficient quality have been copied to an MP3 format.

Hard copy summaries of the oral histories are arranged alphabetically in this series. These are of greatly varying extent and quality. Both audio cassettes and CDs often have extensive notes on their cases. Other documentation and related material is often included. Interview summaries can be found in RBSC-ARC-1831-013-11 (3 folders) to 013-12. A detailed Oral History index is located in RBSC-ARC-1831-013-13, see finding aids note for more information.
