Fonds consists of textual records, and includes written notes and typed transcripts from interviews conducted by William Willmott and two research assistants. Interviews were conducted with Jack Yee and Seto Yingshek, and with relatives and friends of H.Y. Louie. Also included is related correspondence, a membership register of a small Chinese association (written in Chinese), and a small notebook (contents written in Chinese).

Fonds documents the Vancouver Town Planning Commission’s involvement in town planning and zoning regulations. It consists of material produced through the Commission’s discussions and recommendations regarding planning and zoning both for the city and for individual developments.

Meeting minutes record meetings held by the Commission’s executive committee and sub-committees, as well as public hearings held by the Commission. They address planning and zoning applications, planning and zoning by-laws and proposed amendments, and city infrastructure proposals and program progress. Zoning applications and development permits include information on specific developments, property history, and correspondence.

Fonds includes meeting minutes, development and zoning applications, by-law documents and drafts, correspondence, architectural drawings, maps, reports, and other material produced as part of the Vancouver Town Planning Commission’s business. Material is arranged chronologically.

Snapshots Victoria B.C.

A photo album from a British Columbian woman known only as K.B.S. Predominantly family snapshots, as well as photos of travels throughout British Columbia, including Salt Spring Island, Shawnigan Lake, and Victoria. The cover of the leather album is adorned with an image of an Aboriginal chief and a simple landscape. Photos and album are still in good condition. The first large number of images are captioned, but towards the end most are not.

Topics discussed include education, communication, potential joint activities, building the provincial organization, AUCE's relationships with other unions, reports from Locals and committees, amendments and resolutions, the provincial Colleges Act, the importance of child care facilities, and protesting Bill C-73. File also contains a press release dated November 18, 1975.

Topics discussed include finances, interactions with other unions (BCGEU, SORWUC), affiliation, education, newsletter, opposing pipeline construction "through or near native lands where land claims have not been settled," and protesting Bill C-24. File also contains an agenda, a list of delegates to the fourth annual AUCE convention, a provincial executive report, financial statements dated March 31, 1977, a proposed budget, detailed reports from Local 1 (UBC), Local 2 (SFU), Local 3 (NDU), Local 4 (Capilano), Local 6 (TSSU), a joint AUCE/SORWUC committee report, and resolutions and amendments.

File also contains a small handwritten note, a convention agenda dated May 27-28, 1978, rules of order, financial statements dated March 31, 1978, resolutions and amendments, policies and procedures, convention meeting minutes dated June 18-19, 1977, and an annual report supplement from Local 2 (SFU) dated 1978/79 discussing strikes, maternity benefits, and communications.

File also contains the back cover of the docket which has been intentionally left blank for emergency resolutions or amendments.
