Pamphlet providing the revised text of a paper read before the Canadian Society of Civil Engineers on 18 Jan. 1917, regarding economic problems in Canadian railway companies and proposing solutions. Pamphlet includes a map, a profile of terrain, a plan of Montreal terminals and five diagrams showing growth of earnings for different railway companies.

File consists of the July 1942 bylaws of the National Harbours Board, the December 1938 Department of Transport regulations for the protection against accident of workers employed in loading or unloading ships, the September 1941 City of Vancouver Fire bylaw, and the 1935 Board of Trade carriage and dangerous goods and explosives in ships memorandum.
