The series is divided into six sub-series: Genealogical research and childhood days, Education and boyhood, Navy service, University and summer employment, Career with British Columbia Forest Products, and Forestry issues. The records in this series were given their own organizational scheme by Burch, possibly for the purposes of compiling his autobiography. The divisions have been retained while the titles for the sub-series have been supplied.
