Manuscripts, biographical information, and other textual materials

Subseries consists primarily of textual materials created or collected by Lansdowne pertaining to his work. These materials include exhibition tour itineraries, resumés and curriculum vitae, biographical information, text accompanying his artwork in books, awards, honours and other ephemera. Also included are photographs, a framed letter, cassette tapes and a VHS tape.

Maps

Subseries contains maps of various tree farm licenses owned and operated by Western Forest Products and its predecessors.

The majority of the subseries consists of atlases on particular tree farm licenses (TFLs), some of which form part of the working and management plans and are thus closely associated with that subseries. There are also maps of forest areas that are not part of tree farm licenses.

Maritimes

Sub-series consists of original manuscript correspondence and other documents pertaining to the history and development of the Maritime provinces. Records concern trade, government, political ties, population, and agriculture. Includes handwritten notations of Prime Minister Sir John Thompson regarding Newfoundland's entry into the Canadian Confederation and its interaction with the United States, a manuscript by John Haliburton concerning his impressions of Joseph Howe, as well as correspondence of George Leonard, James Montgomery and Edward Fanning.

Market Committee.

Sub-series contains records relating to the British Columbia Lumber Manufacturers Association’s Market Committee. Material consists of meeting minutes that discusses rail prices, export conditions, freight conditions, mining timber rates, decisions on base prices, and list prices of lumber.

Marketing/distribution

Sub-series consists of correspondence concerning distribution, reports of sales representatives and agreements with distributors, specifically the Literary Press Group, Marvin Melnyk and the University of Toronto Press.

Marusya Bociurkiw

Subseries contains two copies of Bociurkiw's poem titled <i>Not in my Name</i> and of her poem titled <i>Radio Nights</i>.

Material relating to Weston Woods Studio filmstrip.

Series contains sketches, drawings, paintings, correspondence, reviews and other materials related to the Weston Woods Studio production of <i>A Salmon for Simon</i>. Some oversized materials are housed in a separate container; please see the file list for further detail.

Medical Illustration

Sub-series consists of medical drawings produced by Cheney during her career as a medical illustrator at Johns Hopkins, McGill, and the University of British Columbia. Sub-series also contains subject files and clippings relating to medical illustration.

Members council.

Sub-series contain records relating to the British Columbia Lumber Manufacturers Association’s Member Council meetings. Material consist of meeting minutes which discuss American Lumber Standards, National Grading Rules, the National Association of Home Builders, Special Industry Organization Committee, trade extension, finances, and reports and recommendations.

Membership Committee

Subseries consists of lists, informational material, forms, and other records relating to membership in the Community Health Nurses’ Group and the work of its Membership Committee.

Memorial Book Nominations Committee

Subseries consists of material concerning an historical record that honours deceased RNABC members who deserve recognition for their contribution to nursing in British Columbia. Records include criteria for nominations and information on names submitted.

Memorial Nursing Portrait Collection Committee

The Memorial Nursing Portrait Collection was established in 1990 to raise money for the History of Nursing Scholarship Fund and to provide a visual, lasting portrait to honour a friend, family member, or other subject.

Subseries consists of committee reports and documents, booklets prepared by the committee, and information on nurses selected for this project. Many also have biographical files or fonds.

Michèle Faguet

Subseries documents the curator files of Michèle Faguet, Director/Curator of the Or Gallery from January 2006 to August 2007.

Subseries contains microfiche of various records generated by Western Forest Products and their predecessor companies from the 1950s to the 1990s. Themes and records in this subseries include: working agreements, planning, inventories, environmental protection, reforestation plans, silvicultural practices, first nations agreements, tree farm licenses, corporate cooperation reports, committee involvement, and public relations. This subseries significantly overlaps in terms of content with other subseries in the collection.

Sub-series consists of two minute books of the Victoria Lumber and Manufacturing Company, Limited.

Sub-series consists of a book containing minutes of the Company’s first
Directors’ meeting, first general shareholders’ meeting, as well as the Company’s first bylaw.

Subseries consists of minutes relating to the Pediatric Nurses’ Group. Arranged according to the PNG fiscal year, which began in May and ended the following June.

Subseries includes minutes, agendas, meeting notes, internal election information, and voting and attendance records for Pro-CAN's Steering Committee and General Membership meetings from 1987 to 2005.

Sub-series documents the administrative activities of TRAS. Files contain minutes of meetings, newsletters, reports on visits to India, and other general material such as clippings, correspondence, and newsletters from other organizations.

Sub-series consists of minutes, resolutions, and agreements of the British Columbia Canners' Association, Fraser River Canners' Association, Rivers Inlet Canners, and other related associations .

Miscellaneous Correspondence

Sub-series consists of miscellaneous incoming and outgoing correspondence, mainly of a business nature. Includes a few letters related to Doyle's position as General Manager of the British Columbia Packers Association. Title based on contents of sub-series.

Miscellaneous files

Sub-series consists of miscellaneous office-related files, some of which relate to events that occurred in one year only. Of particular interest is a file from 1979 which contains detailed information, programs, hand-written letters and cards, etc . relating to the 30th Anniversary Dinner and Dance. Also, there is a file from 1980 file pertaining to the change of the union from OCAW to ECWU, that includes the letter from the Labour Relations Board approving the change.

The following photographs may be from one or more of the subfonds, but insufficient information exists to definitely assign them.

Several items in subseries are not photographs, items were assigned photograph numbers previously. Arrangement has been retained upon transfer to RBSC for consistency.
