Noah Shakespeare, acting as the agent of Mr. Bate and the Vancouver Coal Company, purchased the said property on their behalf. Bate then stated that Shakespeare has exceeded his instruction. It is presumed that Mason is suing for the purchase price of the property, 100 acres at $250 an acre, equaling $25,000.
