Chung regarding a visit with Smith in 1963, a 1963 Christmas card to Chung from Smith, newspaper clippings, several pieces of correspondence and other documents originally assembled by Smith regarding his service on the Empress of Asia and the second Empress of Scotland during the 1940s, and manuscript notes for a speech regarding the Empress of Asia's service in the war of 1939-1945 made by Smith in Scotland.

Signed report made by Donald Smith, the Empress of Asia's Chief Officer, concerning the sinking of the ship by enemy bombers in 1942.
