Skelly

Contains a draft of an autobiography authored by Bob Skelly, leader of the BC NDP 1984-1987, as well as other biographical materials and press releases about him.

Simpson/Stevenson

Contains copies of correspondence relating to a BC Human Rights Commission complaint registered by Kari Simpson, member of the Citizens Research Institute, and Nancy Yacoub, member of the Concerned Parents for Quality Education, against NDP MLA Tim Stevenson.

From the Investigation Report included in the file:
Yacoub's organization "booked a room for an April 20 panel discussion at Vancouver's Renaissance Hotel. The purpose of the event was to discuss issues relating to homosexuality and the schools. ...After learning of the event, Vancouver MLA Tim Stevenson took action in an effort to discourage the Renaissance Hotel from proceeding with the boooking. ...Stevenson says it is his opinion that Citizens Research Insittute and Kari Simpson are involved in an orchestrated campaign against gays and lesbians. ...Yacoub says that Tim Stevenson accused her organization in the local papers of promoting homophobia, and he did not have proof that they were doing this."

Consequently, Yacoub and Simpson brought a discrimination complaint to the BC Human Rights Commission. The Human Rights Officer assigned to investigate did not find grounds to support the case moving forward: "While the complainants' allegations make reference to numerous ground under the Code, they have provided little information to indicate that they have acutally encountered discrimination with respect to these grounds."

Simpson/Robinson

Contains copies of legal correspondence and court documents from the Supreme Court of British Columbia, regarding a case between plaintiff Bernard Simpson and NDP defendant Svend Robinson.
