Blue Mountain Woodlot

Series consists of documents related to the management of the Blue Mountain Woodlot, of which Bunce was part owner. This woodlot was located near Maple Ridge, BC. Throughout the documents, it is also referred to as Woodlot 38. Material includes forest development plans, fire plans, a forest strategy report, recreation management strategy, correspondence and other administrative documents. Also included are articles written by Bunce that address Blue Mountain Woodlot work.

A number of documents containing personal and financial information related to the other owners of this Woodlot were removed because of their confidential nature.

Canadian Forest Inventory Committee

Series consists of documents related to Bunce’s work on the Canadian Forest Inventory Committee (CFIC), of which he was a member for 30 years. CFIC is a national committee tasked with standardising and making recommendations regarding operational procedures, measurement standards, terminology, and data acquisition and handling in the forestry sector.

Materials in this series include correspondence, meeting minutes, other meeting documents, newsletters, and documents from the terminology and biodiversity sub-committees.

Personal and unaffiliated work

Series consists of documents related to Bunce's work and studies in forestry that were not done in affiliation with his employer. Material includes papers written as a student, early career applications, and items related to his role in converting the Canadian forest industry to the metric system.

Professional Associations

Series consists of documents related to Bunce’s involvement with several professional associations, including the Forest History Association of BC, the Association of BC Professional Foresters, and the British Columbia Forestry Association.

Publications and Presentations

Series consists of working documents and final drafts of articles published by Bunce, notes from presentations that he gave, as well as publications collected by Bunce.

Additional publications and presentations that could be identified as having been prepared by Bunce on behalf of Reid Collins are located in the Reid, Collins and Associates series. Publications that Bunce wrote on the work at the Blue Mountain Woodlot are located in the Blue Mountain Woodlot series.

Reid, Collins and Associates

Series consists of documents related to Hubert's work as part of Reid, Collins and Associates, a Vancouver based forestry consulting company where Bunce worked for 21 years, starting in 1972. Bunce's work with Reid Collins was largely in British Columbia, but also included international projects. Materials in the series include collected research, final reports, maps, and promotional material for the company.

Series includes two subseries that include files from the larger bodies of work from Bunce's time with Reid Collins: "Smelter, air pollution, and forest health research" (which includes documents related to research on behalf of Alcan into the effect of the company's aluminum smelter on forest growth). and "International work."
