The journal was published from what was believed to be an exact copy housed in the Library of Laval University, Montreal. The original was missing. The photostats differ from the original in descriptions of Larocque's expeditions, 1801-05. The photostatic copies also contain a chart of the varying temperatures during expedition of 1805.
