Administration series

Series consists of formal and informal correspondence concerning matters related to the Anatomy department, as well as information related to budget, salaries, and other administrative responsibilities.

Correspondence series

Series consists of four sub-series: Correspondence with Publishing Companies and Publishers, Correspondence with Foundations, Societies, and other Organisations, Correspondence concerning research, and General correspondence.

Friedman Home series

This series consists of architectural plans, design guides, cost estimates and magazines related to the Friedman house. The series is organized chronologically, beginning in 1952 with the original plans, followed by remodelling in 1966 and 1981 and ending with the remodel in 2012. The architectural plans are kept separately.

General Correspondence subseries

Subseries consists of general correspondence with various organizations and people. Although most of the correspondence was written by Sydney Friedman, some were written by and addressed to his wife, Constance.

Publications series

Series consists of reprints of Friedman's articles published in medical journals and two multi-volume copies of Visual Anatomy.

Reprints subseries

Subseries consists of reprints of Friedman's scholarly articles, arranged chronologically. Folder 11-33 also includes a list of publications and a brief biography.

The fonds consists of six series: Correspondence, Illustrations, Administration, Lectures, Abstracts, Notes, and Drafts, Videotapes, and Publications. It includes textual materials in manuscript and published form, original illustrative artwork, and video recordings. Additional biographical information is included in folder 11-33.

Visual Anatomy subseries

Subseries consists of two copies of Friedman's Visual Anatomy the 1950-52 edition (2 vols.) published by Charles C. Thomas and the 1970-72 edition (3 vols.) published by Harper & Row. Each volume is autographed on the title page by the author.
