Biographical series

This series consists of Nicholls curriculum vitae, list of publications, newspaper clippings, correspondence and biographical works containing his poetry, drawings, paintings and short stories.

Committees series

This series consists of reports, manuals and correspondence thanking Nicholls for serving on or participating in a variety of local, provincial and federal committees. The photograph in the series is a black & white group picture of the Canadian Funds and Councils Division of the Canadian Welfare Council [1960-1970].

London School of Economics series

This series consists of correspondence, research notes and reports pertaining to the year he spent at the London School of Economics and Political Science as a Research Scholar.

Miscellaneous series

This series consists of newspaper clippings, Certificate of Social Work, a United Way report and a program from a play produced by Nicholls.

Publications series

This series consists of published reports, conference proceedings, articles, books and book reviews covering a variety of social topics and issues. These topics include rural development, rural families, youth and employment, and social welfare.

Video Tape series

This series consist of a recorded presentation given by Nicholls on October 29, 1975. The title of the presentation was "Social Policy Perspectives: The Green Paper on Population and Immigration."
