Administration series

This series relates to the general administration and organization of Guided Independent Study and Distance Education and Technology. It includes correspondence, policies, reports, meeting minutes, statistics, policies and university information from external UBC administration and internal Guided Independent Study/ Distance Education & Technology bodies. The series is divided into the following subseries; Reports subseries [1970-2006], Distance Education General subseries [1995], Senate subseries [1970-1985] and Coordinating Committee for Distance Education subseries [1983-1989].

Business series

This series consists of records relating to joint projects undertaken by Distance Education and Technology and various international businesses and organizations to run correspondence courses at UBC. These records include project proposals, reports, correspondence, and contracts. The series is arranged according to the filing system provided by the creator.

Canadian Federal Government series

This series contains records relating to projects worked on by Distance Education and Technology in collaboration with the Canadian Federal Government, including “Educational Support Services Canadian Forces Continuing Education Program” and “Program for North American Mobility in Higher Education.” It includes correspondence, application information packages, project proposals, contracts, budgets and resumes. Fonds consists of grant proposals, meeting minutes and agenda, correspondence, contracts, course materials, copyright permission forms, conference proceedings, job descriptions and applications, budgets, and employee information related to the Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology’s role in course development and facilitation, supervision of graduate students, collaboration with other universities and institutions, and the Centre’s internal administrative functions. CTLT created the records between 1973 and 2007 at the University of British Columbia. Course Development series

This series consists of records relating to developing and revising correspondence courses from 1973 to 2006. It includes correspondence with course authors, copyright owners and the extension library; copyright request forms and payment information; contracts; course materials; and budget information.

Education Research series

This series contains records relating to research about distance education that was partially funded by Distance Education and Technology or that they participated in. It includes correspondence, meeting agenda, minutes, reports, bibliographies, budgets and funding information, calls for applications for funding, project proposals and descriptions, and notes. The series is arranged according to the filing system provided by the creator.

Grant Provision series

This series consists of annual binders from the grant allocation process conducted by the Advisory Committee on Distance Education & Technology from 1997 to 2004. These binders include grant proposals by various departments for setting up or revising distance education courses, as well as meeting minutes and agenda of the Advisory Committee on Distance Education & Technology regarding the grant allocation process.

International series

This series includes records relating to the collaboration between Distance Education and Technology and various universities worldwide to improve distance education. This includes correspondence, brochures, meeting information, conference programs and proceedings, project proposals, and reports. NLII subseries

This subseries contains records of collaboration between Distance Education and Technology and various universities in Argentina, Venezuela and Brazil. It includes correspondence, meeting agenda, conference programs and proceedings, and project proposals.

UK subseries

This subseries consists of records relating to the collaboration between UBC and various universities and educational organizations in the UK. It includes correspondence, program information, and draft reports.

USA subseries
