A Celebration of Nature: notes, receipt, and signed poster

File consists of material from the second exhibition of Charles' work in 1985 at Salmagundi (in Vancouver). Materials include a signed poster for the show, notes written by the show's curator, a receipt for purchases made for the show, and a small tag written by Charles that identifies these materials.

Animal Wisdom: signed press proofs

File consists of four signed press proofs for the book Animal Wisdom, each showing multiple pages from the book with printing on recto and verso. According to paperwork from the Joyce Williams Gallery that accompanied these materials, this is Charles' most popular book.

Deep Cove banners and prints, signed

File contains two of the banners that Charles' designed for the village of Deep Cove in North Vancouver (where he resides for part of the year), as well as prints of the watercolours used on the banners. There were two versions of the banners produced, each depicting a different scene from Deep Cove.

Life is Art: signed poster and broadside

File consists of material from a 1997 exhibition of Charles' work at the Seymour Art Gallery. Materials include a poster for the exhibition and a broadside printing of Life is Art. The broadside has three watercolour prints attached to it.

Quality Time: program and signed poster

File consists of a program and a signed poster from a 2011 show at the Deep Cove Shaw Theatre which Charles was a part of, entitled Quality Time. The description of the show on the poster reads: "First Impressions Theatre presents Quality Time, an evening of songs, stories & slides, featuring Charles van Sandwyk and the Brandywine Boys." Charles and the Brandywine Boys also recorded a cd, which is available at Rare Books and Special Collections (M1629 .Q32 2010 cd ).

[Reviews of How to See Fairies and Other Tales]

File consists of print-outs of online reviews of van Sandwyk's 2018 book How to See Fairies and Other Tales. One review is from The British Fantasy Society, the other is from a blog called greydogtales. File also includes a Christmas card produced by the Folio Society featuring an illustration from How to See Fairies and Other Tales.

Sea to Sky All British Rally 2013 medallion

Medallions recognize participation in the Sea to Sky All British Rally (2013-2015). Medallion design by Charles van Sandwyk. The event is an annual "British car run" (a scenic drive for car aficionados) from North Vancouver to Whistler.

Sets of Deep Cove banners

File consists of banners that hung in Deep Cove. The banner artwork was designed by van Sandwyk and depicts various nature scenes, some which include the artist's signature anthropomorphized animals. There are two sets of burgundy-coloured banners which were displayed in the fall/winter and one set of green banners which was displayed in the spring/summer.

Sketches from the Dream Island of Birds: signed posters

File consists of four posters for Charles' exhibition at Tigers Cafe in Vancouver. The exhibition featured work from three of his books, including Sketches from the Dream Island of Birds. Each poster has the same base with text, with a different watercolour print attached to each. The watercolour prints show images of a sunset, an elephant palm, a parrot, and a portrait of a Fiji Island resident.
