Inscribed : The road as it enters the canyon.
Fraser, Donald
Inscribed : At the point marked with the arrow we met our trouble. Coming round a bend we suddenly came across a landslide of rock 15 feet high on the canyon wall side and 5 to 6 feet high on the gorge side - right across the road. Om the top of this slide of rocks fell a waterfall that had caused the fall of rock! Added to this were the gale of wind blowing and torrential rain and black darkness.
Fraser, Donald
Inscribed : This shows the type of of bridge which carries the canyon road across from one side of the canyon to the other. There are dozens of the bridges in the canyon - as can be seen above the bridges and road are only wide enough for one car to travel.
Fraser, Donald
Inscribed : The road now passes right into the deep canyon. The road is cut out of the face of one of the walls of the canyon. There are many bridges such as that seen in the photo below, which carry the road from one wall to the other across the raging torrent in the river which flows through the canyon. Although we were informed on the night we left that all was clear that we had permission from the local government office to leave, we passed over many half cleared landslides across the road, usually they were not more than two feet high.
Fraser, Donald
Inscribed : Here is a view of the Road showing the horse show bends. The road is a succession of these bends. This is a view of the road taken from above the point where is enters the canyon.
