Artemis exhibition: signed poster

Signed poster for exhibition at the Artemis gallery in Deep Cove, North Vancouver. The poster describes the event as "An intimate look into the world & works of Charles Van Sandwyk... A spur-of-the-moment exhibition to celebrate the arrival of new street banners designed by Charles for his neighbours in the Cove."

Deep Cove banners and prints, signed

File contains two of the banners that Charles' designed for the village of Deep Cove in North Vancouver (where he resides for part of the year), as well as prints of the watercolours used on the banners. There were two versions of the banners produced, each depicting a different scene from Deep Cove.

Quality Time: program and signed poster

File consists of a program and a signed poster from a 2011 show at the Deep Cove Shaw Theatre which Charles was a part of, entitled Quality Time. The description of the show on the poster reads: "First Impressions Theatre presents Quality Time, an evening of songs, stories & slides, featuring Charles van Sandwyk and the Brandywine Boys." Charles and the Brandywine Boys also recorded a cd, which is available at Rare Books and Special Collections (M1629 .Q32 2010 cd ).

Tavewa Island map, signed

Signed print of a map drawn by Charles. Tavewa Island is part of the Fiji Islands, where Charles lives for part of the year. Text printed on the bottom notes that "copyright reserved by Joe Kubu and C.V.S."

Item is part of a set of green banners which were hung in Deep Cove during the spring and summer. This banner features the artwork of Charles van Sandwyk which depicts a view of sailboats on the water, framed by the trunks of spruce trees. Beyond the sailboats is a densely forested slope. This banner also includes the text "Welcome Home" at the bottom.

There are two sets of burgundy-coloured banners which were displayed in the fall/winter and one set of green banners which was displayed in the spring/summer.

Alice and the Dodo, watercolour

Item is an original watercolour depicting a scene from Alice in Wonderland in which Alice converses with the Dodo. A rat is perched beside her on a soap box and a parrot sits on a branch overhead.
