Fonds consists of records documenting Stephen Sheppard’s professional and academic activities while he was at UBC. They include textual records (correspondence, reports, written notes, data sets, and published materials), audio-visual recordings, photographs, and digital media. The records are arranged in the following series: Aesthetics And Sustainability (sub-series Peter Wall Institute for Advanced Studies, and Articles for Publication), Visual Resource Management, Multi-Criteria Analysis, Local Climate Change Visioning, and Forest Management Research (sub-series CALP UBC research publications, Local UBC studies, North Cowichan Community Forest, Clayoquot Reference Materials, and General).

The fonds consists of correspondence, publication manuscripts and offprints, lecture, course notes and research files. The records offer extensive evidence of Scott's activities of teaching, research, publications and involvement with various government economic commissions. Also included are photographs (most of which are included in two scrapbooks), and a CD containing digital versions of much of Scott's written work since 1980.

The fonds consists of correspondence, memoranda, notes, reports, agenda, calendars and printed materials pertaining to the activities of the Department of Geography and its Head (1969-1986). The fonds also contains the Olav Slaymaker Sous-fonds (1975-1976).

The fonds consists of research material (1997-2002); correspondence (1994 to 2003); pre-production (1997-2001); production from 1997-2003; post-production (2000-2002); audio/video tapes (1997-2004); and photographs (2000-2001). The series has been separated into film-related terminology to retain the integrity of the filming process.

Fonds consists of audiovisual material created or compiled during production of the film. It consists largely of interviews with Suzuki, members of his family and associates, filmed presentations by Suzuki, video clips from the CBC program, "The Nature of Things", and film of Suzuki and family members in various locations in British Columbia, Ontario and elsewhere. There are also stock shots and newscast clips related to environmental issues, and a copy of Suzuki’s debate with Philippe Rushton on the question of race and genetics.
The content of this fonds is housed on several different video and audio formats: Betacam SP, Hi-8, VHS, U-Matic tape (¾ in.), reel audio tape (¼ in.), audiocassette tape and DAT audio tape. Much of this audio and video material was used in the production of the final "cut" of the documentary, and content is represented across several of these formats, with audio content found in both audio and video formats. The larger volume of the content was recorded in the field (especially on Hi-8 and Betacam SP tape) and subsequently copied to VHS tape for editing. Detailed investigation of the VHS tapes against the Hi-8 and Betacam SP tapes will reveal whether the entire content of the latter has been copied to the former in all instances.
The original order of the content was preserved by format and the finding aid is organised on this principle. In addition, a second "intellectual" ordering of the content is provided as an appendix to the file listing: in that document the set of time-coded VHS tapes that were used for editing purposes have been utilised as the central feature of the fonds. It is hoped that this will permit researchers to see relationships that exist between the several formats.
The textual records were turned over to the University Archives by Peter Davis in 2015.

Fonds consists of records which reflect Brink's participation on the Environmental Assessment Panel (1973-1983) and The Nature Trust (1984-1987). The papers include material arranged in the following series: correspondence, teaching and research. The papers also include reference booklets and pamphlets. Each series is arranged in chronological order. The records primarily contain one large correspondence series from 1953 to 1975, with bulk dates of 1961 to 1971. The correspondence contains Brink's faculty papers intermingled with the Division of Plant Science's central office files.

The fonds consist of reports from field surveyors submitted as applications to designate areas in British Columbia for protection. The fonds also contains supporting records relating to the wider Ecological Reserve program and include correspondence, progress reports, presentations, memorandums, lectures, briefs, surveys, "dead applications", news clippings, Orders of the Lieutenant in Council [photocopies], pamphlets, check sheets, aerial photographs, park proposals, handwritten notes, and meeting minutes. Also included is a small series of records relating to Vladimir Krajina, including; general correspondence, curriculum vitae, a list of publications, articles, newspaper clippings, notes, a legacy biography and obituary.
The archivist restored the original order where it was definitive. However, Ecological Reserve Applications 1-39 can be found scattered throughout the supporting records series. The original record keeper appears to have created a filing system beginning at the Ecological Reserve Application 40 (Petitot Rivers).

The collection consists of correspondence, briefs, reports, speeches, clippings, and photographs relating to the history of the Skagit Valley project and the subsequent lobbying on the part of the ROSS (Run Out Skagit Spoilers) Committee (1969-1982).

The fonds consist of records relating to Clemens' research and his positions with the Pacific Biological Station of the Biological Board of Canada and the University of British Columbia and material relating to the research activities of other scholars in the areas of oceanography, fisheries and zoology. Fonds has been arranged into the following series: Academic papers (1923-1963), Correspondence (1932-1962), Course materials ([1939-1952]), and Subject files (1910-1960).
