And Yet the Forest Stands

This promotional film provides a narrative on the benefits of clearcutting, the uses of British Columbian softwoods, the work of falling and bucking timber, transporting timber on logging roads and waterways with the use of logging trucks, sidewinders, and tug boats, mill processes including production of newsprint and plywood, the process of kiln drying, wildfire management, and tree breeding. Forestry practices are shown in coastal British Columbia as well as in the interior. Species of trees discussed include Spruce Pine Fir, Lodgepole Pine, and Western Red Cedar. The importance of the preservation of waterways, salmon, and a philosophy of multiple use of the forest are also shown.

Annual Meeting

Item is a film which summarizes COFI's annual activities for the year of 1973. Activities include both national and international updates, and focus on improvements in international trade and changes in markets for various wood products including wood foundations, plywood sheating, Hemlock and Cedar clears, Western Red Cedar, Douglas Fir, and Hem Fir.
