History
N.R. Crump was born in Revelstoke, B.C. The father of E.H. and N.R. Crump was the superintendent of the Kettle Valley Division of the Canadian Pacific Railway, and N.R. Crump started working for the railroad at the age of 16 in 1920. N.R. ascended through positions of machinist, track section supervisor, and finally president in 1955. He retired from the CPR from his terminal role of Chairman in 1974.
N.R. Crump was named Companion of the Order of Canada in 1971.
