The back cover on the book reads, "In Mannequin Rising, Miki describes a world of consumerism, and answers the visual cacaphony of commodities and window displays with a series of poems and photomontages that reflect the uncanny juxtapositioning he sees all around him."

Sub-series consists of drafts of essays, poems, and lectures that Miki wrote. The essays and lectures included in this sub-series are predominantly works of literary criticism related to Canadian poetry and political commentary and analysis on social and cultural issues related to race, racism, multiculturalism, and the Japanese Canadian redress movement. The sub-series also contains essays Miki wrote as a graduate student, a file of drafts related to an issue of the journal Estuaire which Miki guest edited, and reviews by Miki of works by other authors.

Subseries consists of typewritten copy, notes, annotations, and chapters of various discourses that Moore had written.

Subseries consists of drafts, and in some cases, the published version of over 60 articles and book chapters written by Verner dealing with adult education. Subseries includes a few drafts of speeches that Verner delivered that were subsequently published. Subseries also consists of a photocopy of a monograph on Verner by Professor Gary Dickinson of the Centre for Continuing Education, UBC, entitled, "Contributions to a Discipline of Adult Education: A Review and Analysis of the Publications of Coolie Verner." Subseries is arranged in chronological order.

Subseries consists primarily of textual materials created or collected by Lansdowne pertaining to his work. These materials include exhibition tour itineraries, resumés and curriculum vitae, biographical information, text accompanying his artwork in books, awards, honours and other ephemera. Also included are photographs, a framed letter, cassette tapes and a VHS tape.

The subseries relates to projects conducted by Distance Education and Technology in collaboration with consultants in distance learning. This consists of correspondence, calls for funding applications, project proposals, reports, and notes.

Subseries contains maps of various tree farm licenses owned and operated by Western Forest Products and its predecessors.

The majority of the subseries consists of atlases on particular tree farm licenses (TFLs), some of which form part of the working and management plans and are thus closely associated with that subseries. There are also maps of forest areas that are not part of tree farm licenses.

Subseries consists of maps, charts, and plans collected by Verner, the majority of which appeared in atlases and books. Subseries also includes a few manuscript maps. The maps, charts, and plans are mainly of North America, in particular the western and northern parts, and of eastern Russia and China. There are many maps of Northern Canada, the North Pole, Bering Strait, British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, California, and the Pacific Ocean. A number of maps feature the tracks of the ships of explorers such as Cook, Vancouver, La Perouse, Muller, Cluny, De Fonte, Dixon and Meares, Mackenzie and Hearne.
The maps are engraved and lithographed. Includes handwritten notations of Prime Minister Sir John Thompson regarding Newfoundland's entry into the Canadian Confederation and its interaction with the United States, a manuscript by John Haliburton concerning his impressions of Joseph Howe, as well as correspondence of George Leonard, James Montgomery and Edward Fanning.

Sub-series contains records relating to the British Columbia Lumber Manufacturers Association’s Market Committee. Material consists of meeting minutes that discusses rail prices, export conditions, freight conditions, mining timber rates, decisions on base prices, and list prices of lumber.

Sub-series consists of correspondence concerning distribution, reports of sales representatives and agreements with distributors, specifically the Literary Press Group, Marvin Melnyk and the University of Toronto Press.

The Memorial Nursing Portrait Collection was established in 1990 to raise money for the History of Nursing Scholarship Fund and to provide a visual, lasting portrait to honour a friend, family member, or other subject.
