Bob Hindmarch Collection

The collection consists of twenty-two UBC Football programs collected by Bob Hindmarch from 1951-1992. The file also contains an article by Athletics Historian Fred Hume on Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip's first football game and a short biography of Dr. Bob Hindmarch.
The second box was donated separately. The greatest extent of materials includes photographs. Also included is a folder of research materials, including newspaper clippings a VHS on Thunderbirds in China, 1974. As well as a DVD of the BC Hockey Hall of Fame, 2012 and a Hall of Fame Hockey Plaque presented to Hindmarch on that occasion.

At Home in the Universe: The Life and Times of William Shatner fonds

Fonds consists of audiovisual material created or compiled during production as well as 14 folders of written documentation related to the production of the film. It consists largely of interviews with Shatner, members of his family and associates, portions of previous roles portrayed by Shatner, as well as reminiscences from other prominent actors such as Leonard Nimoy, Kate Mulgrew, Patrick Stewart and Jason Alexander. There is also extensive footage of Shatner at his ranch, hosting his annual charity horseshow, touring his childhood home and McGill University, and his attempts to save the wild horses of Santa Cruz Island.
The content of this fonds is housed on several different video and audio formats: such as Betacam SP(small) and (large), Hi-8, VHS, U-Matic tape (¾ in.), audiocassette tape and DAT audio tape. Much of this audio and video material was used in the production of the final “cut” of the documentary, and content is represented across several of these formats, with audio content found in both audio and video formats.

Health Sciences Historical Society fonds

The fonds consist of records relating to the founding and running of the Health Sciences Historical Society and documents relating to the running of the B.C. branch of the Canadian Society for the study of the History of Science and Philosophy of Science. Fonds consists mainly of correspondence between Ellen Jaffe and Jane Rule, written between 1996 and 2001. The first series follows a letter Jaffe wrote to Rule in appreciation of the TVO film Fiction and Other Truths about her life and work. The rest of the letters deal with Jaffe asking to use quotes from the film in her book Writing Your Way and her visiting Rule on Galiano Island in 2001 to give her a copy of the book. The folder also includes a copy of Jaffe’s book, with the quotes from Jane Rule bookmarked.

Michael K. Craddock fonds

The fonds consists of Craddock’s professional papers in the form of textual records (including correspondence, reports, minutes, course materials, interviews), published materials, technical research notes, presentation slides and reference materials. The papers primarily chronicle Craddock’s work and role at TRIUMF, particularly TRIUMF’s attempt to build a Kaon Factory particle accelerator. Craddock’s work on recording TRIUMF’s origins and history is also represented.

[International women's year newsletters and other materials]

File contains newsletters in French and English and other records related to International Women's Year (IWY), dated November 1974 to July 1975.

Vol. 1, no. 4, November 1974, includes information on funding, criteria for IWY projects, submission guidelines, types of funding available, and an overview of relevant government agencies along with their addresses.

Vol. 1, no. 5, December 1974, features a message from Marc Lalonde, the Minister Responsible for the Status of Women, discussing the Canadian government's plan for the year including legislation, increasing awareness, and providing funding. This issue also includes information on international committees and conferences for IWY, resolutions by the National Council of Women, a Canadian National Railway study on the status of women within their company, a CBC task force on the status of women, the first Canadian Women's Chess Championship, information on Widows United, the Canadian Congress of Black Women's second annual congress, an advisory council on volunteerism, the appointment of the Chancellor of the University of Calgary, the National Council of Jewish Women's IWY organizing, a BC Federation of Women convention, the BC Police Commission Task Force on Women and the Police, and a list of publications and National Film Board films about women and IWY.

Vol. 2, no. 1, January-February 1975, includes information on international, national, and provincial IWY programs in Norway, France, Saskatchewan, and Ontario, UN and UNESCO conferences, corrections to the vol. 1, no. 4 issue of the newsletter, training grants, opportunities for youth, and news from across the country, such as women elected to the Yukon Territorial Government, surnames in Alberta, the "Women Today in Nova Scotia" conference, and a filmography and reading list.

Vol. 2, no. 2, February-March 1975, includes a message from the IWY Secretariat about responding to mail, and a press release issued by Marc Lalonde, the Minister Responsible for the Status of Women about federal government programs. Vol. 2, no. 3, April 1975, includes information on international IWY programs, publications, and conferences in Mexico, Chile, Australia, the Soviet Union, and India.
