Woodlands Parents' Group

The Woodlands Parents' Group was an independent group of parents whose children were residents in Woodlands. They organized themselves as a support and advocacy group for deinstitutionalization and community living. Through their efforts, they successfully lobbied the Government of British Columbia to close Woodlands and support community living for residents of Woodlands.

Series consists of records created and collected by the Woodlands Parents' Group, of which Jackie Maniago was a member. Records include meeting minutes, reports and briefs written by the Woodlands Parents' Group, general correspondence, news articles and other records related to Woodlands and the services provided there, and records related to the lawsuit brought forth by survivors of Woodlands.

Woodcock v. Sehl et al

File consists of 7 documents: Interrogatories; (2) Affidavit of W. Pollard; Bill of Complaint; Affidavit of J. Hett; Answer of Defendant Sehl; Affidavit of J. Sehl. The Plaintiff is a trader and fish carver on the northwest coast of B.C. The Plaintiff and the Defendants had entered into an agreement for the purpose of prospecting and carrying on a general mining business in co-partnership. The partnership dissolved and the Plaintiff claims that the Defendant is indebted to the partnership for $500.

Woodcock v. Pickett and Pickett

File contains: Bill of Complaint; Affidavit of Plaintiff; Writ of Summons; Affidavit of G.H. Cary; Appearance of R. Pickett; Petition; (2) Order; Notice; Demurrer; Affidavit of G.E. Dennes; and (2) Order. The Plaintiff ordered through the Defendants acting as his agents, certain goods, cigars and liquors, which the Defendants agreed to procure for him. The Plaintiff paid them $7000 U.S. to be applied to the payment of the goods. The goods were delivered to the Defendants' store in Victoria but they wrongfully refused to deliver the balance of the said goods to the Plaintiff and they threatened to sell, dispose of and part with the same.

[Wood, Robert (Bob) S.]

File contains material relating to research conducted by the Forest History Association of British Columbia concerning the individual, Robert (Bob) Wood. Contents include biographical notes, correspondence, notated newspaper clippings and a small bound self-published book by Wood, 5 photographs and 2 cassette tapes (SPC-068 - SPC-069) containing recorded interview with Wood.

Photographs BC-2150-0437 to BC-2150-0441 are dated 2001 and depict the unveiling ceremony of a tree and plague dedicated to Wood in Ladysmith, BC. The reverse of each photograph states the date of the image and a description of the image, as supplied by researchers of the FHABC.

Wood v. Davidson

File contains: Affidavit of Wood and Culverwell; and an Order. The Defendant is indebted to the Plaintiff for $71.34 for privileged monies due to the Plaintiff on a judgment obtained against the said Defendant in the State of California. Plaintiff is concerned that the Defendant is about to quit the colony and asks that he be apprehended.

Wood v. Costello

File consists of 5 documents: Writ of Habere facias possessionem; Affidavit of Service; Order to Seal Writ; Judgement; Judgement by Default. In regards to the possession of a parcel of land on Humboldt Street in Victoria. Wood is ordered as being fully entitled to the property. Costello was tenant on the property and seemed to be contesting ownership.
