The fonds consists of records which document William New's publications, lectures, and other activities between 1947 and 2018. Most of the series are based on published works written or edited by New. The remaining records relate to other projects, prizes, awards, papers, conferences, correspondence, or professional interests. Collectively, these records reflect New's various roles as professor, public speaker, editor, author, and poet.

John Gordon Spaulding fonds

Fonds consists of materials documenting John Gordon Spaulding's academic scholarship and career, in particular his Pulpit Publications project, and includes notes, correspondence, published articles, drafts (both handwritten and typescript), computer codes, computer printouts (bound and unbound), and related records. The fonds is organized in three series: College And University Papers (including the sub-series Pomona/Stockton Numbered Files, Other College Files, Toward Dissertation & Dissertation I, and Lectures and Other Professional Papers), Personal Papers, and Cooke / Pulpit Publications (including the sub-series Correspondence, Provenance Studies, General Notes, Drafts, and Printouts, and Bound Computer Printouts). Where Spaulding's original arrangements were still apparent and considered practical, they have been retained – otherwise the files are arranged in chronological order.

Fonds consists of 14 reel-to-reel audio tape recordings, including 13 recordings of poetry readings and lectures at UBC by various people, the most prominent being Allen Ginsberg, and one recording of German 120 course material by Dr. Marketa Goetz.
