The collection consists of a series of interviews carried out by Michael Welton with various friends and colleagues of Watson Thomson as part of his dissertation research for "To Be and Build the Glorious World: The Educational Thought and Practice of Watson Thomson, 1899-1946" (1983).

The collection consists of publications and brochures accumulated by Graham Drew through his work with the UBC Department of University Extension (later Continuing Education). The collection also includes photographs and slides relating to University Extension short courses.

Collection consists of Barbara Gibson’s correspondence, manuscript, notes, and a notebook. The bulk of the research materials also contains photocopies of letters, newspapers clippings, journals and books, as well as photographs relating to Sister Mary Gonzaga.

Collection consists of materials acquired by Peter Moogk and used in his research and his teaching activities. Four photocopied maps of the World War II Point Grey artillery battery were acquired by him from the Canadian Department of National Defence during research for his book Vancouver Defended. The remaining items – loose photographs, UBC publications, and a photograph album – were purchased by Moogk at collectors‘ shows and used as teaching materials for his UBC course History 304 “Local History from the Ground Up”. Some of the latter materials are of uncertain provenance; the photograph album has been identified as originally belonging to Jean Woodrow (Arts ’26).

The collection is an assemblage of movie memorabilia (predominantly Noir and Western), 20cm x 25cm film-stills, 28 cm x 36 cm lobby cards, and ephemera amassed by Thompson as a part of her research for her books Hard-Boiled and Tall in the Saddle. Additionally, there are Science Fiction stills and posters, Spanish-language lobby cards, 36cm x 91cm insert posters, and miscellaneous stills from other 20th-century cinema.

Most of this collection was assembled by William Tetlow of the UBC Office of Institutional Analysis and Planning, and consists of President MacDonald’s initial proposal to the Board of Governors and Senate as well as minutes and reports arising from the work of the Committee on Higher Education (1962/63). In addition, there are also copies of numerous briefs presented by community groups from throughout the province. Also included are copies of documents related to the Report, compiled by the President’s Office and sent to Simon Fraser University to help the SFU Archives document the origins of their university, and maintained as a potentially useful historical resource.

The fonds consists of copied research material used by W. Kaye Lamb in the preparation of his edited work on the voyages of George Vancouver; correspondence, clippings, photostats and related research records used in preparing the Simon Fraser journals; original illustrations used in the Vancouver publication; and published charts and photocopies of historical maps used by Lamb in his projects.

The collection consists of materials relating to the Committee on Continuing and Community Education activities in British Columbia (the Faris Committee), collected and maintained by Committee member Gordon Selman. It includes copies of briefs submitted to the Committee, correspondence, reports, and other documents relevant to the Committee's investigations. The collection is arranged in three series: briefs, letters, and miscellaneous.

The collection consists of materials acquired or collected by Elmer K. Nelson, primarily relating to the UBC criminology programme and his work for the B.C. Office of Corrections. It includes biographical information (1954-2007), correspondence (1952-1987), newspaper clippings (1952-1957), and publications (1953-1957). Also included is an audio cassette recording (catalogue # UBC 3415) of an interview with Nelson. Corrections Branch History Committee, dated 1978. Additionally, a copy of an article written by Gary Parkinson in 2007, "Recovering the early history of Canadian criminology: Criminology at the University of British Columbia, 1951 to 1959", is included at the request of the collector.
