Three-Cent Pulp

Sub-series consists submissions for publication in Three-Cent Pulp (poetry and short prose pieces) and selections for re-publication of the best of Three-Cent Pulp. Includes submissions from Pulp authors: Don Austin, Ted Mann, C.W. Dolson, Norbert Ruebsaat, Roy Stone and Jon Fuberg.

Supplementary editorial records

Sub-series consists of manuscript material, some correspondence, author contracts, promotional material, reviews, author biographies, commentary on manuscripts and photographs.

Sales/service fee reports

Sub-series consists of general monthly sales reports as well as sales and/or service fee reports for the Literary Press Group, Marvin Melnyk, the University of Toronto, Inland Book Company and various other distributors.

Published/printed materials

Sub-series consists of a Pulp Press magazine, calendars, broadsheets, flyers, posters, advertisements and Press catalogues published or printed by Pulp Press.

Marketing/distribution

Sub-series consists of correspondence concerning distribution, reports of sales representatives and agreements with distributors, specifically the Literary Press Group, Marvin Melnyk and the University of Toronto Press.

Sub-series consists of memoranda of association, Companies Act annual reports, business license, official record of the Press’s name change, share prospectus, promissory note, and author contracts.

General literary manuscripts

Sub-series consists of manuscripts, proofs, photographs, artwork, author contracts and some correspondence relating to the publishing of books and broadsheets.

General correspondence

Sub-series consists of general and editorial correspondence and postcards received at Pulp Press from 1973 to 1978. Files are arranged in chronological order. “in” refers to letters received, “out” to those sent. “in/out” indicates that letters received and copies of those sent are filed together.

General administrative files

Sub-series consists of a register of incoming mail, a card file of media addresses, a card file of addresses of subscribers to Three-Cent Pulp and some photographs.

Correspondent-specific correspondence

Sub-series consists of correspondence with employees, book publishers and distributors, government granting agencies, literary reviews and businesses as well as correspondence about particular subjects.

Artwork

Sub-series consists of drawings and photographs for mockups and cover proofs of Pulp Press publications, oversize photographs for Pulp publications, and oversize mockups of a Press magazine Flush Times.

Sub-series consists of Library catalogues, notes concerning the creation of subscription library service, membership forms and lists, financing information, order log summaries, notes on marketing of the service and correspondence.

3-Day Novel Contest

Sub-series consists of correspondence concerning registration for the Labour Day weekend event, promotional material, press releases about winning entries, registration lists, and reviews of the annual event and winning entries.
