[Canada and the United States in the 1880's]

Photographs from Quebec, Ontario, New York state, Alberta, and BC, taken by various photographers. Likely an album documenting travel along the Canadian Pacific Railway. The album and the photos are in good shape, with some foxing and staining. Most of the images are captioned with their location, but are undated.

An album of photographs from throughout the United States and British Columbia. Predominantly the Western United States, but also a few from New York. The photographs are not in an order that suggest the itinerary of one long trip. They may represent travel photos from an individual from multiple trips.

[Barkerville & BC Photographs]

Album likely assembled at a later date by a dealer, however many are related to Barkerville, British Columbia, and a fire that destroyed the town in September of 1868. There are also other assorted images including portraits of prominent British Columbians such as James Douglas, and scenes in other small towns throughout the province. Most of the photographs are reproductions from images at the B.C. Provincial Archives and date from 1857 to 1930.

[Vancouver Photo Album]

A photo album of images taken in and around Vancouver, including Stanley Park, Howe Sound, Bowen Island, and Deep Cove; also includes family portraits and other miscellaneous scenes. Housed in a leather-bound album with an image of an Aboriginal Chief burned onto the cover. The captions are badly faded, and some of the photos are fading as well.

[Possible Murray Family Photo Album]

An album of predominantly landscape photographs from throughout British Columbia, as well as a few in Vancouver, including some of ships in the harbour. In the back after a number of blank pages are also some family snapshots. Many of the photos are captioned in fading pencil. The album may have belonged to a member of Kathleen Murray's family.

An album of photographs, plus some loose images, focused on early British Columbian life taken throughout the province. The album is badly damaged and the spine is virtually non-existent; though some photos are faded, many are still remarkably vibrant.

An album of photographs from a Vancouver family. Mainly portraits around Vancouver and other parts of British Columbia, as well as a couple from Alaska. Some of the photos have captions written on them, others have very faint pencil inscriptions. There are also two additional images tucked into the front.

[Sailor's Photo Album]

A photo album, with a few loose images tucked in, believed to be kept by a sailor in the navy, likely stationed in Comox or Esquimalt, British Columbia. It includes a number of images from around the world including many of ships and navy crew. Also a few images of an apparent train journey in the Canadian Rockies. Some of the locations are unknown. The album is missing its back cover and only small portions are still bound together at the spine.

[Family Album of BC and Europe]

An album from an unknown family living in British Columbia, consisting mainly of family photos throughout BC, as well as a few purchased souvenir photographs from Europe. Many of the photos are captioned and/or dated, and they are not in specific chronological order. The photos are glued into the album, and many are fading badly. The orientation of the album switches after the first few pages, and the rest of the images are upside down.

An album of photographs from an unknown family. A few of the photos are identifiably in British Columbia or Alberta, but the location of the rest are unknown. It also includes a poem cut out of a magazine, "Be Here for Me" by Bonnie E. Parker (likely Bonnie Parker of Bonnie and Clyde fame).

Our Trip

Album of personal photographs documenting a family trip to Texas. On the cover is a colour image of oxen pulling a cart, with the pre-printed title "Our Trip". In the inside front cover is hand-written "My trip, with brother Ernest & Marion and Patsy. July & Aug. 1953, to Texas". The leather album is still in good shape, though some of the photos are fading and warping.

Album of personal photographs of a woman presumably from Regina, Saskatchewan, which depicts her travels in British Columbia (including the Harrison Hot Springs, Victoria, and Vancouver) and Alberta with some friends.

An album of a Vancouver family, documenting their travels throughout B.C. and the United States as well as life in Vancouver, including the royal visit of 1939. The pages are beginning to tear out of the album, but the photos are still in relatively good shape (with some fading).
