Home Economics Now series

This book was published by PEP in 2004. It originated as a series of papers presented at the Vaines Symposium at the University of British Columbia in September 2003. The book was intended for education students and for practicing home economics teachers.
Series consists of correspondence and reviews.

Order of Canada series

Series includes materials related to Saltzman’s receipt of the Oder of Canada in 2003. Includes correspondence, brochures and testimonials.

Other Joy Kogawa writings

Series consists of drafts and correspondence relating to short stories, articles, introductions, forewords, comments, and other material written by Kogawa.

Public submissions

The series consists of print copies of submissions made by the public to the Citizens’ Assembly on various topics related to electoral reform. Some submissions include attachments or scanned originals of submissions sent in hard copy.

Exploring Curriculum series

This book was published by Pacific Education Press in 2008 and focuses on theatrical education. The project began in 2003 when the authors first submitted a sample manuscript and outline. Series consists of drafts, editorial notes, and correspondence.

Audiovisual series

Series consists of footage about episode #76 of Da Vinci's Inquest that Panych directed. Footage includes pick-ups, assembly shots, rough and final cuts, and the director's cut in progress.

Memorial Service

Series consists of records relating to the memorial service held for Campbell Jackson at the University of Alberta Faculty Club, on June 17, 2003. Records include photographs and an audio cassette recording of the memorial service, as well as copies of Campbell Jackson's obituary, memorial booklet, a speech, and a list of those in attendance.

Administration series

Series consists of records documenting the administration of the UBC Learning Exchange and includes correspondence, reports, budgets, written notes, and minutes or meeting summaries. Files are arranged in alphabetical order.

Authorship

Series contains material related to a draft autobiography and to several planned but never completed biographies. Correspondence includes communications with publishers and discussions with numerous writers regarding the content of their writings and source material.
A notepad, handwritten in the 2000’s by Dosanjh, provides a draft of an unpublished autobiography. Proposed titles include, “My Experiments with Exile,” and “Crisis of Conscience.” Communications with publishers regarding the autobiography are included.
Material related to several unpublished biographies, form bulk of the series. Correspondence with two authors, Lisa Crawford and Shari Graydon, are extensive. The latter provided Donsanjh with numerous drafts, outlines, timelines, and questionnaires, to gather source material and feedback. The drafts contain many of Dosnajh’s personal corrections and revisions.
Also included in the series are source materials in the form of historical newspaper clippings and early advocacy writings related to the life of Dosanjh.

UBC Consultancy Project – Kuwait Institute for Business and Technology series

Series consists of correspondence (internal and external), minutes, drafts, curricula and reports. It is arranged in the following sub-series: Office Materials, Drafts, Final Reports and Initial Proposal and Future Involvement in KIBT. Titles are based on the contents of the series and original titles. Note: Kuwait Institute for Business and Technology, abbreviated to KIBT.

Heavenly Monkey Editions publishing records

Series contains copies of books and ephemera issued by Heavenly Monkey Editions and includes setting copies, detailed page layout schematics, dummy of final book, final printing schedule and sequence, proofs and impressions, makeready copies, printing plates, printing blocks, and various other documents used in the creation of each item.

Post-Production series

Series consists of tape indexes used by the production team to document footage, press material of the film's release and awards, samples of promotional materials, and information relating to the making of The Corporation DVD. The editing process can be accessed and viewed separately.

BCIT

From 1991-2002 Ratsoy was Associate Dean of Health Sciences at the B.C. Institute of Technology. Series includes a letter and clippings by and about Ratsoy and the School of Health Sciences at BCIT.

Posters and Promotions

Series consists of posters, promotional material, and newspaper articles about Greenboathouse Press and Jason Dewinetz. Some promotional material for the Greenboathouse Reading Series can be found in the Administration series.

Community Living Coalition

The Community Living Coalition (CLC) was a group of people and organizations who supported individualized funding for people with intellectual disabilities. The group gathered together as an advocacy body to work with the B.C. provincial government to address cutbacks in community living services and support, develop new governance structures for community living, and promote individualized funding.

Series includes meeting minutes, reports, news releases, and correspondence created from the activities of the CLC and Jackie Maniago's participation in the CLC.

Digital Media series

The series consists of various formats of CDs, DVDs, and floppy disks containing digital images, textual documents, and audiovisual recordings.

Items are organized in chronological order.

Photographs series

Series consists of photographs taken during the Editorial Board field trip to Nicola and the Okanagan Valleys in British Columbia.

On the Art of Being Canadian series

Materials related to the writing and publishing of On the Art of Being Canadian (2009). Includes annotated research materials, correspondence, publishing permissions, photographs, clippings, and ephemera.

Management records

Series consists of records that pertain to the management and administration of the Quails’ Gate Vineyard Estate Winery business. Series includes both analog and digital records. Series includes records such as project documents, reports, and meeting minutes.

Chapman Awards series

Series consists of records documenting the Chapman Awards, which recognize outstanding student volunteer involvement and leadership. Records include correspondence, reports, and student applications. Files are arranged in chronological order.

Oral history project audio recordings

Series consists of audio recordings made by the Robeson memorial concert committee of various activists and organizers involved with the initial Paul Robeson Peace Arch Concert. These activists include Ben Swankey, Ace Hadrell and Betty Donaldson. Bundled with each audio recording are paper notations which provide details about the interviewee and the interview itself. This series also contains the final, edited compact disc which the committee published as part of the project.

Series consists of records documenting the various programmes administered by the UBC Learning Exchange and includes correspondence, reports, minutes, budgets and related financial records, written notes, and published items. Files are arranged in alphabetical order.

Artwork series

Series consists of several art objects, mainly untitled. There are some paintings on canvas board and pastel work. Several are credited as being by Morehart.

Anniversaries series

Series consists of records relating to the 25th and 40th SLAIS anniversaries and include minutes of the 25th-anniversary committee, newspaper clippings, correspondence, reports, photographs and short articles mounted on boards used for the display 40th anniversary of the School. The series also includes the "Tummy Est" medal given by Bert Hamilton to the first graduates of the School and a videocassette from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) Media Library of short interviews for CBC News with Sam Rothstein (May 14, 1960), Basil Stuart-Stubbs (March 25, 1971) and Ms. Thiele, graduate of Class of 1971 (May 26, 1971).

Audio Tapes series

Series consists of 15 audio tapes representing nine interviews of the School's faculty members and Directors, including the widow of one of the Directors that MLIS student Maurizio Dattilo carried out and Faculty Member Judith Saltman in March 2001. These interviews were later used in their book Forty years of Library Education: the School of Library, Archival & Information Studies, University of British Columbia 1961-2001, published by the School. All interviews were recorded initially on micro cassettes. All discussions were transferred to electronic formats in July 2003. Typescript interview manuscripts are available for all but one of the interviews. Note: Audio tapes have been removed and are stored with the UBC Audio Tape Collection.

Baseball Series

This small series includes season statistics from 2001, memorandums, and a post-season roster from 2005. In addition, please see the Media and Promotions Series for baseball programs and other publications on UBC baseball statistics.

Essentials of Mathematics Project series

This project was produced as part of a contract with the British Columbia Ministry of Education. This was the first contract that Pacific Educational Press had with the Province. PEP published three student books and three accompanying teacher resource books for the project between 2001 and 2004. This was done with the input of multiple provinces and territories. Each book had a slightly different group of authors, though many authors wrote for several of the books.

Series consists of documentation of the Essentials of Mathematics series and includes book proposals, minutes, drafts, editorial notes and reports, and correspondence. It is arranged in subseries based on the book title.

Fashion design projects

Series relates to Coupland’s venture into clothing design in collaboration with Roots Canada Ltd. Under the tagline “Canada Goes Electric,” Coupland designed a limited-edition clothing line as well as various leather goods which were released in stores and online in 2010. This project marked the first time that Roots partnered with an outside designer in this way.

Series includes textual records relating to the design and research of the clothing items. Also included in the series are finished production garments and leather goods, as well as items not approved for production; strikeoffs; fabric and leather samples; and finishing material such as patches, zippers, labels, and fasteners.

Community Service Learning and Community Based Research series

Series consists of records documenting the programmes administered by the Learning Exchange, incorporating the principles of Community Service Learning and Community Based Research. Records include correspondence, reports, minutes, budgets and related financial records, written notes, and published items. Files are arranged in alphabetical order.

Visual Resource Management series

Series consists of textual and photographic records documenting the work of Sheppard and others with CALP in relating environmental and aesthetic concerns in public perceptions of forestry and forest management, focusing on Weyerhaeuser's cutting practices, including variable selection logging and other selective logging methods. Records include published studies, reports, correspondence, related textual materials, and slides showing aerial and landscape views illustrating forestry practices and environmental aesthetics used in public presentations.

Trinity Western University v. British Columbia College of Teachers

Series consists of clippings, correspondence, notes and legal documents related to the Trinity Western University v. British Columbia College of Teachers case heard in the Supreme Court of Canada in 2001. Berger represented the British Columbia College of Teachers, who had denied an application for teacher’s program from Trinity Western University, based on the grounds that the University did not allow homosexual students.
